Has anyone used Aruba Fairy Tales ?
I am in the process of planning and wanted to know if it is worth the extra cost? I am aiming toward the Renaissance so does this mean I will have two wedding coordinators, one provide by the hotel and Aruba Fairy Tales? Please let me know |

We used Aruba Fairy Tales when we got married in January. Indira and her assistant, Daniella were absolutely amazing. I believe that if you are getting married in Aruba, you need a wedding planner since they know the ins and outs of the island. It makes the wedding process almost stress free. Angela was our photographer and she did a great job and was fun to work with. We had our reception at Tierra del Sol. The food was the best wedding food I had ever eaten and our guests said the same thing. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Indira was recommended to me by the Marriott but now its nearly three weeks and I still don't have a proposal. I know she was really busy moving but by now I expected I would have at least heard something. I sent a follow up email on the 21st that hasn't been responded to. I have heard nothing but great things about her so maybe there are extenuating circumstances, but I'm a little disappointed at the moment.
And yes, the hotel will provide a coordinator (we met him when we visited last month - he was very nice), but Renaissance and Marriott I believe are really flexible in allowing you to use outside vendors as well. I'm getting married at the Marriott and expect to use an independent planner for the decorating and possibly the ceremony. |

christene - I had the same issue when trying to contact Aruba Fairy Tales. Maybe we were both trying to reach them at the same time? I'm not sure but I did decide to go with Aruba Weddings for You and so far am very happy with the choice. We are only in the early stages but they have been very helpful!
Best of luck! |

I hope you have heard back from Indira at Fairytales by now . There must be something going on in her life that is preventing her from replying back to your emails in a timely manner since you last spoke. If you have her telephone number, maybe you should give her a call followed up by another email. Good luck.

No, still no contact. No reply to any of my emails. Desiree contacted her late at night a week or so ago and told me she was going to call, but still no call (or at least no message left if she called and I missed it since I don't answer my personal cell phone at the office).
I just figured maybe she's not interested since all we're really looking for is some decorating help (furniture & canopy rentals, though I did invite her to bid on table centerpieces, and some other things) instead of a full wedding planning package. At this point I don't think I could have any confidence in someone that couldn't at least reply to my email by now, even if its just an explanation for the delay. Quote:

Thanks for filling me in! Wish she could have taken 30 seconds to reply to my email and explain that much. I would have really appreciated a brief note. Now its definitely too late. Completely ignoring a potential client for weeks seems unprofessional to me and the hotel is also disappointed their recommendation fell flat.
On the upside we will be working with another wedding planner (Edwina of E2) who I think is going to be fantastic! She gets super busy too, but is always courteous enough to drop me a note letting me know when she expects to be able to get back to me. So far, Edwina's been very patient with us and seems to even enjoy the decorating challenges we present. She is a real professional and a very sweet lady on top of that. Thanks again - Christene |
