Aruba wedding for UK peeps

My fiance and I are just starting to plan our wedding and are curious about Aruba.

It looks absolutely stunning but I am concerned that if we want our marraige to be recognised back in the UK, we have to get married in a church. Does anyone know if that is right?

We had our hearts set on getting married on the beach and weren't planning to have a ceremony back in the UK beforehand. What are our options?

I welcome any tips, advice and experiences. Also if you are from the UK and have married in Aruba, how easy was it for you to plan everything?

I think we are aiming for a number of around 20-30 guests. Are there any more private beaches to get married on?

Thank you in advance

You can probably find a ton of information on other Aruba boards as well. I saw some discussion on the message boards at tripadvisor.com concerning Aruba weddings.

I'm not from the UK, but maybe a start would be to check out these websites:

Best of luck in your planning! I do remember seeing that in order for the marriage to be legal or recognized, you do have to get married by an official, I believe, at the Town Hall. If you wish to exchange vows on the beach with others in your party present, you can do so in addition to that.
