Yes, it is true that that when a wedding is planned so far in advance, it might take a while for the the resort planner to get back to you after the initial plans start to go forward. I am sure if the bride and groom have any questions or concerns the planner will email you back. If the questions are urgent, and you need an immediate reply I suggest that you put a call out to planner from the resort that is assigned to you to get a quicker response.

We did our wedding at the Marriott back in November of last year, and it was a similar experience. I had read about it ahead of time so I wasn't as frustrated as you. I made sure the date was finalized, the general layout of the wedding was discussed and a we had a quote that was pretty close, and then we chilled out for several months. About three months before the wedding the contact picked up. We did go for a visit early in the process and that is where we laid out the general plan with what we wanted them to provide. That way I felt more comfortable waiting until a little closer to finalize details.
I worked with Chela initially to get the contract done, then Verna was our actual wedding planner and let me tell you - she was wonderful! I can't imagine anything having gone better from the Marriott point of view. Our flowers, the layout on the beach, the bartender, the music, and the FOOD! It was all wonderful and I has no hesitation telling Verna basics and letting her attend to the specifics. I told her what color of flowers I wanted and something tropical, and Viola! They were perfect. I never saw them ahead of time, but I didn't really have time to stress over every detail and I figured she knew what she was doing. I am sorry you are feeling worried, and hopefully you will get more contact from them, but I have a lot of confidence in their planning ability! Have fun! |

Marriott is a great resort, food, staff and awesome rooms and a great place to vacation.
Unfortunately the turn around time for Marriott has always been in the past few years very slow. I recommend that Marriott hires another person to help out at answering emails. Aruba is Laid back but when it comes to vendors the professional ones who love their job and make it a priority to answer any questions the bridal couple have should be answered within 24 hours, unless it is a holiday or a weekend. May through the beginning of September is Aruba's busy months and the wedding planners have there plates full at getting the everyday wedding the first priority. Verna is a great asset to Marriott and I wish to see her get more help because Marriott is a nice location for a wedding venue. I just spoke to my bride who is getting married in August at Marriott and she is happy with Verna and has responded to her emails in a timely manner within 48 hours. I had told her that it was busy this month and she understood. All in all your wedding will be amazing and Verna will get to you. Don't stress but ENJOY!!!

This is the busy wedding season so you will get a delayed response from planners. There are some weeks when they are working on weddings every day( 6-7 per week). For me most of the finalizing was done within the last month. I had a lot of questions throughout the process so I would make a list of questions and touch base with my planner about every month or so.
Don't worry it will all come together! |
