Rainy season runs October to mid-January.

June is the windiest month of the year. September is the hottest/least windiest month. August is hot as well, but much breezier than September.

Low season, and those cheaper resort rates, run end of April through the last week before Christmas.

We are in Aruba a lot week 50, which is the week right before Christmas. We have had a lot of luck with the weather and not too much wind either. The difference in price is remarkable. The Friday of that week, the price of the rooms jump significantly.

So what exactly does "rainy season" mean? Our wedding is tentatively planned for October 31st (or November 1st depending on price and availability). Do you have to have back-up plans in place for rain, or is it more like quick showers? My fiance thought the rains might be late afternoon. My though was late afternoon / early evening wedding (5:00?) and then reception dinner during sunset. I know someone who spends some time in Aruba that insists rain should not be an issue since Aruba is mostly arid.

A lot of rain showers occur over night and early morning. During the day you may have a passsing shower, it may be "showering" down the beach and sunny on the part of the beach where you are standing.

October weather
Average high temperature 90 F.
Average low temperature 80 F.
Average temperature 83 F.
Average water temperature 83 F.
Average rainfall 2.60 inches (20.3 inches annual)
Average windspeed 13 mph

November weather
Average high temperature 90 F.
Average low temperature 78 F.
Average temperature 82 F.
Average water temperature 83 F.
Average rainfall 3.10 inches (20.3 inches annual)
Average windspeed 13 mph

This is a scholar/technical paper http://www.weather.an/reports/documents/RainfallPrediction.pdf
"...during the rain season most precipitation is late at night and in the early morning, opposite to the usual tropical pattern..."
Just so folks know I don't pull this info out of a hat.

The paper also breaks the rainy seasons down as:
February to May is dry season.
June to September is the "small rains" season.
October to January is the rain season.

Any tips about July versus August? We are looking at getting married there next summer around July 31st or August 1st. How is the weather then? Thanks!

As Lisa explained this is during our rainy season, however it tends to rain early hours if the morning and then it is gone. But you should make sure that you do get a rain back up plan from the resort/planner you work with. If you opt for December, rates are significantly low just before
Dec 21 and then they go sky high. Also if you are planninjg to do the legal ceremony on the island as well, please bear in mind that our local Town Hall normally closes for the holidays from around Dec 20 till begining of January. The date can vary. So be sure to inquire about this.
