Certified Copy of Marriage License

Does anyone know the steps necessary to receive a second certified copy of an Aruban marriage license? Who to contact? How much money to send? One spouse is in America with the original and the other spouse is in Venezuela and needs a copy to immigrate but they don't want to risk sending their only copy back and forth.

Your best bet is to contact the Civil Registrar at the Aruba Civil House. They can assist you with getting a second certified copy.

The response above was the right response but getting through to that department can be a challenge at times. I will swing by there on Monday and see about this matter for you.

ursapoooh,

I've gotten to the census office this morning to find a line of people waiting to get in. The office finally opened 20 minutes late. After entering and waiting my turn, I asked the lady at the recewption window for Mr Christiaans and was informed that he's had an eye operation and will be out for some time. I then proceeded to ask her who's his replacement for me to ask a few questions, to my amazement she informed me that there is no replacement to answer questions so I guess I'll just have to wait until he gets back. I'll be asking around though so check back in and I will have a response for you.

I just hurt my heart when I have to deal with these government institutions, but I've heard that it is about the same all over the world.

I've been back to the Census office to inform about your request as I've decided someone had to respond. The wedding section will impossible be non operative without Mr. Christiaans. Well to my surprise I right but still a little wrong. Yes it is possible, you will have to pay a fee (I guess you expected that) however they don't know what's the fee and Mr Christiaans is the one authorized to sign this document so we will still have to wait until he comes back.

ursapooh,

I've been in to see Mr Christiaans yesterday and he said that it is possible and it will cost you $40. I will suggest you getting in contact with him.
