Civil Ceremony

I am getting married in Aruba in October and I am hoping that someone can give me details on what the Civil Ceremony is like? Do the bride and groom normally wear their wedding attire, is there a ring exchange, ect? Or is this more of just a legal event where you just sign the marriage certificate. Any info is appreciated.

From what my wedding planner told me most Bride's wear a nice Sun dress and the men wear a polo like shirt and nice khaki pants. You can wear your attire but there are many hours in between the ceremony at the Town hall and the beach blessing.

We are getting married June 28th. My fiance will probably wear the same thing but I am not wear my wedding dress. Just a white sundress.

Where are you having your wedding?

Hope this helps,
Meredith

Wear something nice, a beautiful sundress would to the job. You will not want to regret your photo opportunities missed by being too, too informal, though, because this is a very nice building and surroundings, ask photographers for samples...
There is a "formal" exchange of rings and vows, first kiss, etc. It is a very nice ceremony.

Im wearing...

I'm wearing my wedding dress to the civil ceremony. I figure since it is "Aruba" material and not heavy I am going to get the most out of it... most brides only get to wear it once (per wedding) but I am going to wear it twice. Besides my fiancee helped me pick it out so he knows what it looks like already anyways..

I just got married on June 25,2007 I wore a pretty white sun dress because the buildig is beautiful so you want to look nice for some great photo shots!! We did exchange rings but you don't have to if you don't want to.. You can save it for your beach ceremony or do it both times Like I did
