Getting Married in Aruba!
Hi Everyone!! My name is Heather and I just got engaged on 10/22/09! My FI and I live in Philadelphia, PA and we want to have our wedding in Aruba on 10/22/10. So far that is all we know about our wedding! I am looking into the Westin, Divi/Tamarijn, Radisson, and Aruba Marriott Casino. If anyone has any information, recommendations or pictures please let me know!
Thanks! Heather |

We are only having 20 guests at the wedding and I want it to be formal. My fiancé will be wearing a tux and I think that is what I want.
I actually changed my list a resorts a little bit too. Now I am considering the Westin, Hyatt, Marriott, and Tamarijn. I think what would make this easier if I could decide if I want all inclusive or not. Both have there pro and cons. |

hat0112 - Welcome! I'm actually getting married at the Tamarijn on 10/25/10 so it looks like we'll be getting married around the same time! Also, I am orignally from the Philly area, small world!
I would suggest doing ALOT of research on venues before deciding on one. We are having about 20 people as well and the Tamarijn (Aruba Weddings for You) was the best way to go for us, however; people have raved on the boards about the Westin and Marriott as well. It will seem like so much information at the begining but just be sure to take your time with it all and find the place that's best for you both. Are you having a reception once you're back home or keeping it all in Aruba? Good luck! |

Well we finally picked a resort. We are definitely going with the Westin (as long as it doesn’t get booked before we can sign a contract). We have talked about having an at home reception. I want it, he doesn’t, and my family (they are helping pay) does. I think it will probably happen. It won’t be anything big. We will probably just rent a hall and have drinks and appetizers.
Are you having a reception or are you having a dinner in Aruba? |

We decided to do an informal dinner (possibly at Moomba Beach) after the ceremony in Aruba and once we get home, we will have a formal reception for the entire family in November. There were alot of people who wanted to see our actual ceremony but since we wanted to keep it intimate, we decided this would be the most fair option to keep everyone happy.

We are getting married in Aruba with just my immediate family. We are having a cocktail reception for friends other family member three weeks after we return. I had put a post asking about wording...you will see it. Someone provided a suggestion for wording. I always wanted my family to go away as a complete family (as adults) so it made it an easy decision to not invite anyone else....that way, no feeling can be hurt. Our party will be cocktail/heavy apps and DJ in my parents back yard.....we jsut need to hope it does not rain but if it does....we will have tents.

My son just was married Nov 11 and we picked Lissy Lampe as the wedding planner. She did everything for us. Angela from Bellaruba photography was the photographer. We stayed AI at the Occidental and the ceremony was on Eagle Beach. The formal dinner was under the stars at Passions. Simply the best. A short walk of 20 yds down the beach from where the beach ceremony was. What a great idea this turned out to be. We don't have Angela's photos back yet, but you can view ours at the following link. It was perfect! They didn't want the ceremony at the resort where beach goers and sun bathers would be walking around us as the ceremony was taking place.
