Hair Salon

Hi there everyone,
We are getting married in Aruba in 3 weeks. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a hair salon or stylist for myself and 2 maids of honor. I heard Maggies Salon mentioned several times, but could not for the correct email address.

Thanks!
Katherine

The name of the salon is Maggy's. I don't know where you are staying but Maggy's has a few locations including the Renaissance Mall and Paseo Herencia mall (across from the Holiday Inn) The general email is maggysaruba@setarnet.aw Phone # for Renaissance mall is 583-6108; Paseo Herencia 586-6506. Dialing from US is 011-297 then #.

Congratulations Katherine on your wedding.

Hey -- Congratulations

I would contact your destination concierge as you may want something reasonably close to the location of the wedding and as well the concierge there will be very knowledgeable. Otherwise let the folks here know where you will be located and I am sure additional suggestions will be forthcoming. I know of a nice place by the Renaissance Ocean Suites and with the two Marriotts there, and being downtown, would bet that you would have your choice.

I saw you request in a Google post just this morning (7/5/08) and hit the reply without noticing your post date.

I would think that by now you are all set with the Aruba hair dressers.

Thanks everyone! Believe it or not, still not all set with the hair. Thanks to the help of the wonderful people on this site, I emailed Maggys and I'm awaiting a reply. We are staying at a timeshare at the Playa Linda, but I'm getting married at the Divi. Does anyone know anyone in particular at Maggie's (the one across from the Holiday Inn would be closest) that they would recommend?

Hair Stylist

I would think that either your wedding planner or resort where you are having your wedding could make hair stylist suggestions. Personally speaking, it is a hassle to travel to a hair stylist on your wedding day. Most of the resorts have excellent hair salons with excellent hair stylists. Also, another option would be to have a hair stylist come to your room. If your beach ceremony is taking place at around 6 p.m., I would suggest either you have an appointment made for your you, your maid of honor and bridesmaids at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. You as the bride should have the last appointment at around 2:30-3 p.m. so you can be ready by 4 p.m. and have enough time to get dressed and ready by 5 p.m. As a matter of fact, the ideal hair salon would be the resort where you are staying at. As your wedding date is very close, I would have the appointments made ASAP because from past experiences, the hair salons book up quickly for large wedding parties. Good luck!
