My fiancee and I are getting married at the Renaissance in August 2008. Ideally we want a live band for our entertainment and we just need some help finding one!

Any suggestions or advice would be helpful... also, if you think a DJ is a better idea and you could suggest someone that would be great too!

We used a live band Equator for our reception and a steel drum band for during the ceremony. They were awesome. Our family and friends are still talking about them 2 years later.

You got married at the Renaissance? I am in the beginning stages of planning our wedding (not until 2009) and I am planning on getting married at the Renaissance. Could you give me some insight into what it was like through the planning and the eventual wedding? I have not had much luck with communication with the on-site coordinator. Thanks!

I tried for months to get in touch with the Equator Band, with no luck. Once I had finally mentioned it to my wedding coordinator she told me that they are very hard to book because they have become so popular down there. We ended up going with the steel pan band for the ceremony and cocktail hour and Cyclone Promotions as our DJ (I hear they are great too)

Quick Question: Do you spin house music? My family, friends, finace and I love to dance and go nuts, like if we were at a club. Would you need a list of songs I liked played for that event?
