My Wedding on Jan.15,2008

Hi..
First I would like to say thank you to everyone who gave me the great info on my Aruba wedding.
I just got back on Saturday. We got married on Jan.15,2008 at the Divi Phoenix and used Indira as a wedding planner.
Everything was absolutely perfect. We first got married at town hall, then had a sunset beach wedding with the help of Revern Robert Gibson. He did a wonderful job.
Paul Van Driel took the pictures and we couldn't have imagined anyone better. He took over 200 photos.
Our wedding dinner was at the Divi Sunset Beach Bistro. We had shrimp cocktail, salad, filet mignon & shrimp, and creme brulee and wedding cake for dessert. I was a bit nervous having planned everything over the internet, but everything Indira did was remarkable.
It was a small wedding....just 8 of us and I ended up renting a villa for everyone to stay in. It had an infinity pool overlooking the ocean and was just beautiful.
We also ate at some great restaurants that week.
Flying Fishbone - for the welcome dinner...great ambience
Madame Jeanette
Churascarria Texas de Brazil - Brazilian food
Chalet Suisse
Blossoms - japanese
Overall this was my dream come true...If anyone has any questions, feel free to email me.
P.S- I put some pics on shutterfly, but dont know what to do so you guys can see them.

It's great to hear that everything went well. Especially since I'm getting married at the Pheonix Divi in February. Let me know when you figure out those pics as I would love to see them.

Wedding Planning for Aruba

I'm so happy to read your post. Of course I've waited until the very last minute to plan anything about our wedding upcoming in April (duh, this is why we decided to elope in the first place: poor planning skills).

We also are renting a house, and there will also be a total of 8 of us. We're doing the legal ceremony stateside, so I'm just looking for a nice place to have a beach blessing, a small reception, and then dinner for the 8 of us somewhere.

I'd love to get any advice, what you thought specifically of Divi, anything you wish you'd done differently? How far in advance did you plan with the wedding planner? I started contacting a few in December, and heard back from a couple, and didn't hear back from some. I'm just having so much trouble deciding on the best place to have it, the right place to have dinner, etc. etc.

Thanks for any time you can give to helping me. And congratulations!!!!

Renting a House

There are some very beautiful beach locations in Aruba to have your wedding ceremony Some suggestions to have your wedding reception dinner is to hold it outside on the grounds of the house that you are renting. If they have a pool, you dinner table can be set up right beside the pool. If you have a wedding planner they can help you with a caterer, flowers and anything else that you need to make your wedding day very special.

Smile

I used Indira at Aruba Fairy Tales - she can put a wedding together in a matter of weeks - try her. Sometimes shes not in the office so it may take a day or 2 to get back to you. My wedding was stress free and beautiful. We had 52 people and she did everything from renting cell phones for me and my wedding party to be able to keep in touch to transportaion for all 52 people from the hotel to the rehersal, photographer, flowers, cake etc - Any questions feel free
and HAVE FUN!
