Ok, thanks, everyone. That's helpful. I should have my new SS card within 2 weeks and SSA told me this should be enough to change my Driver's License...I hope that's the case! I was just thinking that normally, if married in the US, it's on record with the state that the marriage occured. Perhaps it's not really necessary to have this on record anywhere? Especially if we can get a new SS card and Driver's License?
SaraO, did it cost you extra to have your local courthouse record it? Mine wanted to charge me $135 to "legally" change my name, but since I'm now able to change my name on other docs, I don't think I need to go down that road...
