New Holiday venue

Hi

A friend of mine is heading over to Aruba and spoke of an existing
venue that has been idle in Aruba for 3-4 years and is now being
turned into a coffee place and a wedding venue. Apparently it
seats over 200 people. It has its own boat mooring too.

Has anyone heard anything about this new place?

He said there have been 2 weddings booked for later this year already (even
though the venue isn't finished) and the rates will be $75,000 US
per night and a min of 2 nights.

I fear that my friend is getting sold some tall stories so I just wanted
to ask the following:

* Do you know of any wedding venue's that charge up to $75,000US
per night in Aruba?
* Is there a new coffee place starting over there that can hold a lot
of people?
* Also can Australians go and work there on a visa?

Thanks in advance. I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine that Aruba
has to offer.

Your email is kinda vague (or I need to find the coffee place! LOL)....

Is a 'venue' a hotel or just a 'catering facility'?

The only new coffee place I can think of is the Starbucks at the
Ren pier which is just a regular size store that is very crowded....

I can't think of any place that is nearing construction that fits that
exact description.

Are you thinking of having a wedding there or working for them?

There are several wedding planners on this board that might be
of some assistance.

Hi Lizzardo
Thanks for your reply. I am vague in my post as I have very few details,
hence the questions. I don't have enough info to be more specific but
having said that your answer confirms my thinking that no new construction
seems to be taking place for a venue of that size.
I will try to get some more info tonight and get back to you on here.

In the meantime if anyone else has heard of anything please let me know.
Thanks.

Hi aussietraveler -- a bit off the subject, but my husband's 1st cousin and his wife arrived last night from Brisbane, and we head for Aruba on the 17th for 2 weeks!
They come stay with us every year for 2+ months -- our best friends live on the opposite side of the world from us! :-)

hi Windy
I am very jealous. Aruba pictures are incredible. The island is bound with beauty.
No doubt you'll have a brilliant time.
brisbane has been raining so much its flooded in many places, especially north of
Brisbane. Your friends will love the pleasant change from our unusually rainy weather
here.

Yes, they said it has been terrible there with the flooding. And last year was a horrible draught! Of course, they have arrived here in New England to our cold weather and dreary landscape! Aruba is going to be a welcome change!
