Officiant - Geoffrey Banfield

Hi,

I'm working with Juney at the Marriot Renaissance and he has contracted Reverend Geoffrey Banfield for the officiant. Has anyone ever worked with him? If so, please provide your thoughts?! I originally wanted to work with Rev. Gibson, but he's unavailable. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! Geoffrey Banfield did our wedding this past June 2009 on Renaissance Island... he was awesome! Juney sent me some samples of things that Geoffrey might read, which I reviewed and approved. I also had found readings that I selected and I sent them back to Juney with instructions about who would read them, and at what point in the ceremony. There was no issue, and Geoffrey did a spectacular job of making us feel super special, and it was unforgettable. I actually did not meet him until "wedding time". I couldn't imagine the service to have been more perfect. Just communicate with Juney what you want to be said on your wedding day, and if you want to leave room for improvisation he will do that too. I highly recommend him. Any other questions, I would be happy to help.

Reverand Banfield also officiated our November '09 Renaissance Island wedding and he was great. I also had requested Rev. Gibson after seeing him officiate a friend's wedding in '08 but Rev. Banfield was equally great! I have to admit that the ceremony was a bit of a blur for me but my guests loved what he wrote and after watching the video I have to agree. He's very personable and has a great speaking voice and nice accent!

Officiant: Geoffrey Banfield

Hello all,

I am getting married next week and just found out that Geoffrey Banfield will be our officiant. I have not gotten a chance to speak with him or see anything he plans to say. I am trying to get this information but getting information regarding any of the vendors, etc has been painstakingly slow.

I read some posts about this officiant and hear he is excellent, but I was hoping for a little more information. If you could help me out, I would be super appreciative.

I was wondering:
1. We are doing a blessing and we would rather not have it very religious or at least not religion dominated. Are his blessings religion based?
2. How long was the ceremony he performs?
3. Does he do a sand and shells blessing?
4. Does anyone have a sample of his ceremonies or a website or anything?

Thank you!

Geoffrey Banfield

I have witnesses several of Geoffrey Banfield's wedding ceremonies. Rev. Banfield is a lovely person and performs a very meaningful wedding ceremony whether it is religious or non-religious. If you prefer a non-religious ceremony, just reach out to him and express your wishes. There are all types of rituals that can take place during a wedding ceremony. The one that is very nice is the sand ceremony and also is very meaningful.

Thank you for both of your comments. I greatly appreciate it. We have invited him to our Welcome/Rehearsal dinner so I will have the opportunity to meet him in advance and speak to him.

Thank you again

We had him for our ceremony last July 2010 and he was AWESOME!! He kept things light and he also did a sand ceremony that involved myself, my husband and my 2 kids.. You won't be disappointed!!

Thank you!
I've been there for several of weddings he has officiated, and I do have to say he's very talented...

He'll keep things light and fun, and without any doubt he speaks from the heart and his speech will touch your heart and soul, no matter how many times you hear it!

1. He can do all dominations, and I particularly like his non-denominational blessings, very fun, amazing advice and inspirational message.
2. The ceremony takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
3. He does do sand and shells blessings.

The Video will give you a small sample of what you can expect!

Greetings!
