    Our Upcoming Aruba Wedding

Thank you so much for posting so much information and pictures about your wedding. It looks like it was amazing!
Your post prompted me to join this network because I am having trouble choosing a venue for our event.
We have the Radisson reserved, but our main concern is that we only have 25 guests and are not sure if this is the right place for us. I see that you had 80 people which is a great turnout! Having experienced your wedding there first hand, would you recommend booking a smaller wedding like our there?
Also, was there an enormous amount of onlookers when you married on the beach?
One more concern; we read a blog and someone said that there was a blow up water sports tent right next to where there were set up to marry. Did this happen to you? I find it hard to believe but wanted to make sure.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond. I am very nervous about choosing the right place and having good food, nice ambiance etc...

    Thank you again:

    Kristin

kristin i sent a private message to the original poster instructing her to come back to this thread as you had questions.

i hope she comes back and can answer your questions.

i am no destination wedding expert, but have you done a site visit?
if not, i wholeheartedly advise a site visit.

also too, there may be some that will give their advice here to you.
some of those giving advice may be wedding vendors, so knowing that, please bear in mind that they may be giving a sales pitch for their services. that sales pitch is not allowed.

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

Kristin, I don't believe any wedding is to small for Lisa and Angela. Back in July my husband and I renewed or wedding vows at the Radisson and it was just the two of us. Lisa and Angela did a remarkable job, two of the most caring women you will ever meet. I did everything via email months before and met with Lisa when we arrived in Aruba 2 days before the event. You will not regret having a wedding at the Radisson.

    Smile

    Hi Kristin!
I have to fully agree with bgmouse- I can't imagine being disappointed with any size wedding at the radisson especially if Lisa is handling it. If you tell her what you are looking for she will go to the ends of the island to make your dreams come true. She ran out the day of our wedding to buy me a garter because I completely forgot about it- I honestly can't say enough good things about her. To answer your other question there is a watersport tent down by the pier bar but not anywhere near the wedding ceremony and definitely not in any of my pictures. There were a few people that watched th wedding but with any public beach it's something out of your control. To be honest most people know enough to stay back and also it's something I never even focused on. If you want to send me a private message with your email I can send you more pictures of our wedding especially the beach ones so you can see that there are no tents in the background. I hope this information helped! Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!!

    Smile Wedding at Radisson

    Kristin,

First of all, this is not a sales pitch lol. My husband and I returned from our Aruba vacation 3 weeks ago and had the opportunity to stay at Radisson. I met with Lisa and can assure you that she will do everything in her power to see to it that your wedding is everything that you imagined it would be. The resort just had over a $40,000,000 renovation and first hand I can tell you that the grounds are even better then before and from what I understand Lisa will only do one wedding a day. Do not feel bad that you are only having 25 guests. That is a nice size wedding :-). From what we saw, the Radisson beach is not over crowed so you should not have a lot of on lookers. Lastly, you chose a very beautiful resort to have your wedding. If at all possible, you and your fiance should fly to Aruba for a long weekend and walk the grounds with Lisa so you will feel more comfortable. Not everyone can do this because of the current economy, but if you are able to do so, it would be very helpful and set your mind at ease.

I haven't been ready to post my wedding review yet (just waiting on our photo and video package to arrive so I can put together a complete review), but my husband and I just had our wedding at the Radisson a month ago. Including us, our party was 31 people. And without any hesitation I can tell you with 100% honesty that our wedding was perfection. I will get back on here and post a full review with detail, but let me echo most everyone who had wed at the Radisson: it was the best decision!

    Questions

    Kerri,

If you don't mind me asking, approximately how much did your wedding cost? I dream of having a destination wedding but most of my family seems to believe that it costs way too much. I've heard that in some cases it actually ends up being a lot cheaper. How many guests did you have and did you pay for the flights of your guests? Please help! Thank you!!

    -Toni
