Our Aruba photographer secured but not hotel

we finally decided on Aruba to marry. We were thinking of the Mariottt but ummm might change that decision since we have not booked yet!
I'm so excited. We reserved our destination photographer, Sherrlyn Borkgren.

She photographed a friends wedding and the pictures are exquisite. I love the artistic style and we don't need them during our trip, infact I kinda want to anticipate and see them when we get home instead. It just feels more special to us.
Pictures are really important to me because I want to look back on them we we are old and feel everything I'm going to feel on our wedding day. As long as it is on the white sand I'm not that picky about the hotel. wE are thinking of the diva or maybe even one less well known.
We have about 40 people coming right now and it's not until 2009!!!!!!

Questions about when to book?

We are planning a wedding in July of 2009. Should I have already secured a photographer? We are planning on going this June to do all of the booking, from your experience is this to late? And are you working with a planner?
Thanks so much

It's a good idea to start looking for the photographer you might want. Some photographers are signed up a year ahead. Make sure they are professional and have been working photographers for some time. We found that there are LOTS of weekend photographers who are not really professionals. So watch for that. There are some very good destination photographers and a big part of what you do depends on how much the pictures will mean to you. That is going to set the price.
I know of several who friends have used that are wonderful so if you need any suggestions send me a priv note.
2009 will be here before you know it!

Photographer

Just wanted everyone to know that Aruba has some outstanding photographers that know their island and do excellent work. It puzzles me why a wedding couple would go through the expense of flying two photographers to Aruba and have to pay for their air and hotel.
