our Riu wedding

We have not long returned from Aruba and we had an amazing time.

25 of us travelled out to aruba with thomson's for our wedding and we were staying at the riu palace, when arriving in aruba it was warm and the sun was shinning and we were all in holiday mood even though we were all very tired from a long journey.

we arrived at our hotel and were very pleased it looked lovely and we quickly got checked in and went to our rooms, rooms were lovely clean and spacious.

my husband and i were very excited to start planning our wedding now we were here. we had a meeting with abigail the wedding planner who we both found very helpful, i was a little disappointed when she showed us the locations of where we could get married but agreed to have a beach wedding, i was disappointed as was hopping for something a little more private if i had known before going that this wasn't going to be the case i would have chosen a different hotel, abigail then took us to the restaurants where we could have our wedding breakfast and we choose to hire the upstairs of one of the restaurants for an extra charge so that we could have private dinning which im very glad we did as reading other reviews since our return home ive seen this is a problem at this hotel as they need you seated and eaten and then out pretty quickly. as we had the upstairs this wasn't the case for us so had no issues with our meal. i would strongly recommend hiring the restaurant as we were not rushed at all and the staff we had were very helpful. we did have an amazing wedding day but if i had known all i know now about the hotel before going i would not have chosen the riu.

I would defiantly not go to the spa to get your hair done as they are awful, they cant speak english are very slow and have no idea how to do hair for a 4 star hotel the spa is complete rubbish, my hair looked awful and so did my two bridesmaids, luckily im a hairdresser and fixed the bridesmaid hair so that they looked nice. Abigail came to the rescue with my hair and fixed it for me.

Abigail suggested the photographer we used jason margarita and his team and they were amazing from start to finish if your going to aruba to get married defiantly use him and his team they can do everything and really make sure the day goes smoothly, if i had done more research i would have got jason to sort out everything for us from the hair to location of the wedding.

like i said we did have an amazing wedding even with the hiccups of hair and location without jason and abigail it would have been a disaster so we have them to thank, both went over and above to make it perfect.
