OMG thank you for sharing your photos!! i am going to be starting the wedding planning process today with Aruba weddings for you.. just a quick question, was the ceremony at the divi all inclusive and then everyone was bused to the sunset bistro? cause thats what theyre telling me has to happen. And did you have to have the civil ceremony? It looks really pretty and intimate I may do that too, but i thought if i get my marriage license here that was good and then just have the beach ceremony.
Divi Phoenix has a beautiful beach for a ceremony. Been to many weddings there. If your group is large and staying at the Divi All inclusive, it is easier for everyone to meet in the lobby and bused over to the Divi Phoenix for the ceremony and reception. Saves a lot of time too :-)
Yes our ceremony was at the Divi Rocks at the Divi All Inclusive and then because all of our guests were staying at either the Divi or the Tam, Marjorie arranged for the Divi shuttle to transport all of our guests. It took two trips, but no one seemed to mind. Most went to the bar to grab a drink while they waited. Our reception at the Sunset Beach Bistro was great. I wanted to eat dinner with my toes in the sand.
We had a civil ceremony as well which was extremely intimate and a very special moment. It was a short ceremony but really helped us feel like we were getting married in Aruba with the true culture of everything.
Happy to answer any questions that you have. Good luck with your planning!
Suzanne.....we've got to get together and meet! Bully is the best......HI BULLY. Tim and I will probably return in July.....too bad we coud not go at the same time! We have our big reception here next weekend....turning out bigger than I expected.
I LOVE the review of your wedding. My bf and I want to get married in Aruba. We are not officially engaged yet, but we know we want to get married some time in 2011. I have been doing some preliminary research, and I really think I want to get married at the Divi All-Inclusive. It just seems to fit us...with the number of restaurant options, laid-back beautiful beach, but then close enough for entertainment when we want it.
We are thinking of doing a civil ceremony in our hometown w/ our immediate fam then a beach wedding in Aruba--just the two of us. With that being said, I know we want the officiant, marriage certificate and flowers. Any good tips on a videography/photography package?? I don't think we will do the cake or the band...it's just us. Plus if we do the honeymoon package at the Divi, that will include the dinner and champagne at Sunset Bistro...right?
Any thoughts? Also, I wanted to view your slideshow, but it looks like it may have expired...
Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you!

What gorgeous weddings in Aruba! Makes me jealous as my husband & I wanted to get married there but the parents/in-laws had their own ideas as they wanted it local so lots of family & friends could attend. Anyway, we decided the next best thing was to celebrate our anniversary there so we did that 3 years ago for our 10 year & have gone each year every since! We saw a wedding there last year on the beach & still wish we had gone that route. SO beautiful, laid-back, and romantic. Oh well, glad we can celebrate each year there anyway & we try to forget about the kids back home & call it a "honeymoon"! Best wishes to all you newlyweds!
