Exclamation Stressed please help!!!

Hi all, I have a beach wedding booked for 30th May and decided to contact hotel regarding the docments they would need from us - I have just ordered an apostile birth certificate for both myself and partner (that was easy) once we get these we can get our negative statement of marriage - does this need to have an apostile stamp???? Finally I have been told I need An Apostille Report from your State Department (Secretary of State) certifying the authenticity of your Birth Certificate and Negative Statement of Marriage. I have NO idea where to obtain this in the uk or even who to ask!!! I'm stressing as I have also been told that the civil ceremony in the town hall cannot be reserved until they receive these - Its 3 weeks until I get birth certs, then I can apply for the negative statement of marriage these take a further 3 weeks!! I was never told any of this info and yes I should have researched but as I'm paying a wedding planner I knid of expected to be informed of what I needed to provide and was only told because I emailled to see if birth certs needed raised stamp after seeing it in a magazine. Am really worried my civil wedding won't go ahead and my family and friends have all paid out to spend the time in Aruba with us - lets just say there's been lots of tears please can someone help me with what I need exactly? Many thanks

If you are calling from the UK, the access code for dialling out is 00, unlike 011 out of the US.

Good luck

Hello,

The sentence is a bit confusing and missing a few commas..."An Apostille Report from your State Department (Secretary of State) certifying the authenticity of your Birth Certificate and Negative Statement of Marriage." - So am guessing you are having issue with the apostille section, right?

What you are looking for is a report, with an Apostille...This is a stamp and a signature on the back of the document which confirms that the signature on the document has been checked with the database at Milton Keynes and is correct and genuine. Moreover, in the UK, the department responsible for issuing apostilles is the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

Applications can be made by post or in person at:

Amanara UK Limited
Gloucester House
399 Silbury Boulevard
Milton Keynes
MK9 2AH

Your document must be lodged at their office by 1pm, and it will be ready for collection the following day, after 2:30pm. You do not need to bring identification documents and anyone can present the documents on your behalf.

You can also post the documents to them:
Day 1: you post the document
Day 2: they receive the document at their office
Day 3: they post the document back to you
Day 4: you should receive the document

If you're having problems submitting your forms to get verified, send me a pm with your # and I'll give you call and walk you through it, would be much easier than typing out the steps.

If you get stuck, we are here to help!

Hi Jason, I just copied the statement from the email I received from organiser in Aruba. We are currently waiting on apostille stamped birth certificates, does a certificate of no impediment need an apostille stamp? This apostille report .... does this mean stamped? My friend works for Thomson holidays and seems to think the apostille report is a report written by a solicitor to verify our birth certificates and no impediment are genunie? She said the solicitor should stamp and verify this letter? Is she incorrect? I am seriously stressed and so annoyed I was told we were all set up for the 30th May and only found out the civil ceremony may be a problem because I emailled the organiser asking about documentation last week (cutting it fine but I honestly thought she'd be in touch if she needed anything). She is saying she cannot reserve the date with the town hall until she receives all documents and this could take weeks!! Is there anyway round this at all for example submitting the intent to marry, copies of passports etc before I have all other documents that are needed? If so who would I contact in Aruba? We arrive on the 25th and the beach ceremony is the 30th - we wanted our civil the same day as ideally we'd have like to get officially married on the beach but this wasn't possible. I'm really worried we will be disappointed and our family and friends will have paid out to come over with us! We fly to curaco for a week on the 31st May. Sorry soooo many questions Thank you for helping me. Kelly

Do you mind me asking who is your civil coordinator?

I don't want to tread on anyone's toes, but my team reserves dates everyday with just a letter of intent and copies of everyone's passport. All the original paperwork is required a minimum of 3 days prior, and yes...that means stamped to verify it's validity and that it's genuine (apostille), and until you get all the originals we work with scanned copies.

Getting a document verified and stamped (apostille) in the UK according to my past experience takes approximately 4 days, so you should be ok. Also, you can obtain a CNI from your local register office and with my past couples it came signed and verified and was accepted as is when we submitted it. I will double check with Mr. Christiaans for you tomorrow morning just to be on the safe side...

I will send you a pm tomorrow during the day!

Best Wishes,
