Trash the Dress Shoot and Photos!
Hello Everyone --
Just today I received proofs for my wedding and the Trash the Dress shoot. Since you all were so much help to me, I'm sharing them here first! (My friends haven't even seen these yet!) We had intended to go to the Bushiribana Ruins. We asked the concierge at the Westin for directions to the "Gold Mill Ruins" and they sent us somewhere else. (I think where they sent us was also called something like Gold Mill Ruins - its in the middle of the island and there is no one around.) While its not nearly as grand or dramatic as the Bushiribana Ruins it ended up being a cool location after all and we had time to make it back to Eagle Beach to get in the water! The water was a challenge though - once the dress is wet its SO heavy... Getting out of the water is tricky because the waves want to knock you down. I know this kind of shoot isn't for everyone, but I have to say these are my favorite photos from the whole weekend. The wedding and reception were done and we just got to have fun without any pressures or distractions. I worked so hard to first find this dress and then to pay for it. There's no way I'm going to part with it, but I wasn't ready to be done with it. I wanted to have another set of unforgettable moments in it! And would you believe the dress came clean? It was embarrassing to take it to the cleaner as it still had debris (driftwood scraps and sand) in the underskirt. We weren't expecting it to come clean but somehow it did! The veil was torn but we saved it anyway -- all part of the memory. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks again for all the support from the members of this forum. Our wedding weekend was one we will never forget. Once upon a time he told me "Mercedes or Wedding".... I'm glad we chose the wedding! Christene Last edited by christene; 01-08-2010 at 02:57 PM. |

Better than that --- there was a "kitchen" option. I'm so desperate to redo his kitchen. Its a pretty new house, but the kitchen needs some serious help! There was a little twinge every time he looked at the budget and said, "You know by now you could have your new kitchen paid for...". And then another day he'll say he'd rather we buy another house than do a full kitchen remodel... Oh well... the guy was worth the wait. Hopefully the kitchen will be too.

Amazing pics Christine! They came out great. Hoe did you get hubby to do them? I've heard of some men who simply refuse but when they see someon;es pics it makes it a little easier to persuade them.
I love trash the dress photo shoots. I know as brides we spend tons of money on the dress and it has sentimental value but it's fun. You can always clean the dress and preserve it later. |

He was such a great sport. I found some great photos to show him for inspiration and he loved them - he might have been as excited as me. And last night we looked through the photos together -- the TTD photos are also his favorite. One of those will likely be the one that ends up over the fireplace!
Until that day, I wasn't sure if I would go through with getting in the water. At the first site though, climbing up in those windows was a challenge. I knew I could really damage the dress getting up in there. So, I realized I was ready to go for it even if the dress really does get trashed. Even though he's lost his hair and I've gotten a few wrinkles, I wanted to make sure we had photos that captured how young and adventurous we feel. And I think we succeeded in capturing that 'little bit of drama' I wanted. Here's one of our regular wedding photos taken on the Marriott's balcony. We love that its a little funky. We so didn't want traditional wedding photos - we wanted our personality in them! And of course Aruba makes for a stunning backdrop! I hope we get to go back soon! ![]() Quote:
