Two Ceremonies, Two Dresses?

For those of you doing both the civil ceremony at the courthouse in Aruba and then after on the beach are you getting two dresses?

We're only going to the courthouse with our witnesses and really looking at the beach ceremony as our wedding (even though we will already be legally married). So I'm trying to decide if I should get a more casual white dress for the legal ceremony and then wear my wedding dress on the beach.

Any thoughts?

Option 1
Have a casual dress for the civil ceremony and then for the ceremony on the beach one will wear the wedding dress.

Option 2
Wear the wedding dress at the civil as well as the beach blessing.

Bot options are common. Decision is made based on the interlude between the civil ceremony and the beach blessing. If your beach blessing proceed your civil ceremony in succession then option 2 is the most common option if the break is long between the both ceremonies then option 1 is then the norm.

Hope this helps.

Two Dresses for Civil and Beach Wedding

The brides I have known wear a short white dress for the civil and the grooms wear a nice pair of light colored pants and golf shirt or nice short sleeved shirt. If the civil ceremony takes place in the later part of the afternoon with the beach ceremony one or two hours later, many brides have worn the same wedding dress. Many couples choose to have their civil ceremony one or two days before their beach ceremony which takes a lot of stress out of getting ready on the beach wedding day. Getting back to short white dresses, it does not have to be a wedding dress style, but just a pretty white sun dress.

Two Ceremonies, Two Dresses?

I got married on the island in June. I opted to wear a pretty white sundress for the civil ceremony (at 10am), and saved my wedding dress for the beach ceremony (6pm). But Bryan made a good point. If your beach ceremony closely follows the civil, then you may want to wear your wedding dress.

p.s. Go Boston! ;-)

Two dresses

Hi! I am in the same boat. I am planning to have the civil ceremony earlier in the day with some sort of sun dress....I will do the hair, makeup and wedding dress for the beach ceremony.

I'm getting married in July and decided to have my Civil on Thursday and Beach Ceremony on Friday. I ended up going with 2 dresses. A short white dress for the Civil and a long white for the Beach Ceremony..
Check out Nordstroms.com, they have several selections and the prices are pretty good. Good Luck

Thank you all for your help! I think I'm going to end up with a simple short dress for the civil ceremony and then change for our beach ceremony. I can't believe it's so close! Time is flying by.
