UK Coming to get Married, Letter of Non impediment

Hi all, we are coming to get married in may 2010 to Aruba, I know there are various documents required, one being a Letter of Non Impediment, this can be obtained from my local Registry Office, but they asked if the country has a certain time they need to see on it?!

Ie Some countries wish it to be produced only 3 months prior to the wedding, other 6months old only, does anyone know arubas policy on this?!

Thanks very much!

Letter of Non Impediment

The Letter of Non-Impediment and other required documents must be received by the Aruba Civil Registrar one month before the wedding date.

Many thanks for that info.

I didnt make my question clear!

The registry office here said that the certificate will be dated, certain countries say it has to be dated within so many months of the wedding date. IE certificate has to be issued only 3 months beofre our wedding.

Hard to explain sorry!

Prezzac,

I've gotten to the census office this morning to find a line of people waiting to get in. The office finally opened 20 minutes late. After entering and waiting my turn, I asked the lady at the recewption window for Mr Christiaans and was informed that he's had an eye operation and will be out for some time. I then proceeded to ask her who's his replacement for me to ask a few questions, to my amazement she informed me that there is no replacement to answer questions so I guess I'll just have to wait until he gets back. I'll be asking around though so check back in and I will have a response for you.

I just hurt my heart when I have to deal with these government institutions, but I've heard that it is about the same all over the world.

I've been back to the office and I was informed that it will be valid if you get it by now. They don't have a set cut off time but for May next year you can go ahead and get it.

I never did forget this thread and had this pending for the new year as I knew Mr Christiaans would've been back by then. I sat with him yesterday and he informed me that the Letter of Non Impedement is valid between one year and 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Anything before or after will not be valid.

Hi,

30 Days before wedding date is required. Try do it a little faster than that, that way you are sure you are on time and everything runs smoothly.

Hope this helps
