Hi, im dress shopping at the moment and found the most beautiful dress!! but its satin!! but when i was trying on dresses i payed attention to the heaviness of the fabric and i didnt feel like it was heavy... whats the best fabric to wear for a nite time beach wedding? anyone wear satin for their wedding?

The Temp will be approx 88 degrees so you don't want something to heavy and then again, you want it heavy enough to hold form for the pictures in the wind.

Hi DaisyMay - I wore chiffon because it was light and easy to transport on the flight. Surprisingly, it didn't wrinkle much which was nice!

Hi!!! I also wore a chiffon dress which was absolutely beautiful when the aruba winds caught it as i was walking, Also, we traveled from Pittsburgh and the chiffon came out of the bag looking great!! No ironing needed at all!

Yes, Aruba can be very warm at times, but there is the cool trade winds that make one feel very comfortable if they are wearing light weight clothing. As far as satin fabric for your wedding dress, you might feel very uncomfortable as the fabric can be very clingy. There are many light weight fabrics made out there that were especially designed for destination weddings. If you can get a hold of some bridal magazines, I am sure you will find a style that will look well on you and very light weight. You can also look on the manufacturers website to see if you find a style that will look well on you and then contact the manufacturer for the location that is closest to your home. Good luck

hmmm... I never even thought about this!
My dress is 100% silk... very simple. How do you all think it will fare in the hot weather?

Silk can be clingy in the hot weather. Also, be careful not to get it wet as silk will stretch.

also too, even though silk is a natural fabric, it does not breathe well.
