You are traveling all the way to Aruba just to get married at the civil house? Why?

We are getting married in August, staying at the Bucuti and are using Michelle Osbourne as our wedding coordinator. She is really great and everything is going to be ready when we get there.

This is your wedding day, why would you want to risk the chance of arriving in Aruba and having nothing planned?

We did it without a planner a year ago with little problem, except the paperwork. Finally I called Mr. Christiaans who is Minister of Marriage for the country. He's in charge of everything and conducts the ceremony. I was waiting for confirmation of the info I faxed before sending originals FedEx. Because we were arriving on Saturday and not getting married until Thursday, we made arrangements to hand carry everything to Government Center on Monday. Mr. Christiaans took care of everything and even took us on a tour of the facility and explained the specific logistics of the ceremony. His number is 011-297-5834400. Although it took a few tries to get through, email was hopeless. On a scale of 1 to 10, the paperwork was a 5 and everything after that a solid 10.

So... just curious... how did it go? we are planning to be married in September... do you have any suggestions? Linda
