When to start planning

Hello, just curious as to how far in advance to start making reservations with photographer, wedding planner, etc. Doing a simple ceremony for our 20th anniversary, so I have the date for 2011. Thought I'd look around at various locations when we are there in 2010. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you for assistance.

i would send out a few emails now to those that you would like to consider and ask that they give you a few moments of their time for your next visit.....which will be in 8 months right? once you have met them you could make your decision.

so this will be a 20th anniversary vow renewal?

my advice is keep it simple, classic and laid back.

but, i am not a wedding planner.........although dh and i just completed the plan and execution of dear son's and his wife's wedding last sturday!!!

my favorite location would be alto vista chapel for vow renewal or the beach.

with a simple reception/meal/music at perel d'ore pam pam which had a lovely gazebo'd function room/area. it is terrific....small, holds maybe 50, outdoors and very pretty.

Could probably also email Reverend Gibson for suggestions. http://www.aruba.com/forum/tags/reverend%20gibson.html

We did our 20th with Rev Gibson last year. We did it in 3 months time on a weeknite. Check with him as his schedule gets full...(he's great, thats why)
Perfect ceremony, great guy.
We did it at the beach at Divi Phoenix near the Sunset Bistro.
COntact Rev Gibson for further info...also, we have pics posted in the gallery.
Need any more info PM me, cindy

20th Anniversary vow renewal

My suggestion to you and your husband is to visit a few locations the next time you are in Aruba as you will know in your hearts the location that will be perfect for the both of you. We renewed our wedding vows for our 40th and 45th wedding anniversary on Eagle Beach followed by a small cocktail reception, wedding cake and champagne toast. Our 50th is coming up January 16th and will be renewing our wedding vows again for this special golden wedding anniversary, of course in Aruba

Thank you all so much for your input. I know Rev. Gibson is a must, and leaning toward Angela at Bella Aruba for photography. I've had so much fun looking through so many albums and there are so many talented photographers! Plan on looking around during next trip for locations and see which feels right exactly! Since we will be staying at Marriott, the hotel is a possibility, the divi tree on Eagle Beach, Arashi Beach, or by the lighthouse. Love the "trash the dress" photos and may have all our friends that come participate in that as well! (I will give them advance notice they will get wet) Thanks again for the great information.
