    Where to Stay

Hello Everyone me and my fiance are coming to Aruba in October for our honeymoon I was wondering if I could get some info on hotels we are currently booked at the Renaissance Hotel and casino. But we do have other option we could stay at Costa Linda,Aruba Beach resort the Divi Dutch or Divi Golf ,Casa Del Mar Beach Playa Linda.

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks John

john, we love the Rennaissance, you can't go wrong with that place.
The private island is perfect, the location is close to everything, local and good restaurants& shops. I would suggest the suites vs. the marina towers as you would have more room. cindyo

John, We started going to aruba 12 yrs ago, haven't stayed any other places. Once there, we were hooked.
Others on this board perhaps will chime in on the others you've listed. Anyway, best wishes on your upcoming wedding.
When you do decide ask the forum on restaurant choices, activites, as we all have our favorite things to do. cindyo

I can't tell you from personal experience about the Renaissance Hotel and casino a couple (late 20s early 30s) we met on our sunset cruise said they weren't overly pleased with it they said it was loud and that there was no beach unless you went to the private Island which is nice but a bit of a pain if you want to quickly go back to your room or anything. again that is not my experience I did not stay there

We stayed at the Occidental Grand it was a great hotel with a beautiful beach and the food was amazing (we upgraded to the ROyal Club at it was totally worth it) we travel allot and we found this to be a great hotel, This was our most amazing trip ever. I am probably biased though as we were there for our wedding- although my 22 guests said they loved the hotel as well

John, for your clarrification, there are 2 Rennaissances. Marina tower and suites. Yes, I agree with the previous post on maybe the marina being loud, and yes it is a walk to the boat to go to the private island, it also is no-kids... But heck, go to the high rises and it takes a walk to get the elevator, with hopes of getting a lounge chair at the pool or beach, then a hike back to get what ever else you need at your room. I suggest the suites, there is a small lagoon to float in, a swim up bar and restaurant, and 2 pools....cindy

Thanks for all the responses it is great my dilema is I have a time share with RCI and they offer these hotels Costa Linda,Aruba Beach resort the Divi Dutch or Divi Golf ,Casa Del Mar Beach Playa Linda. Those are the ones I am most intrested in I already have booked at the Rennaissances unfortunately it is in the marina side because I got it a such a great deal through a friend that works for Marriot.

So if anyone knows anything about those RCI hotels it would be appreciated

Cindyo do you think it is worth the extra 800 to stay at the suites side of the hotel ?

    Thanks Again John

The question I have is this:
What are you looking for in a hotel? Without knowing if you like activity, quiet, restaurants nearby or all inclusive, it's hard to know what we should suggest.

Yeah that is true. Well we will be on our Honeymoon so I guess some place romantic and quiet. We dont need a all inclusive as I have herd the resturants are really nice in Aruba we would like a place with a swim up bar and nice pool and a resort right on the beach. We would also Like a casino and a Spa on the property or at least walking distance.

John, How long are you going to stay b4 I answer the $800 question...( sounds like a game show, huh)..anyway, if you like just a hotel room then the marina is the way to go, if you like a kitchen set up, balcony, couch, table chairs, 2 plasma tv's, a spa on site, 2 casino's within minutes of each other, walkable great restuarants,etc...then Renn suites is the way to go.
PM any other questions if you like, cindyo
