FWIW, Divi Dutch is NOT located directly on the beach but is behind the Tamarijn Resort.

This past July we got married at the Renaissance and spent the first 7 nights at the Marina hotel. We absolutly loved it!! It is adults only on that side and we never had a problem with the noise. Family member of ours we at the Ocean Suites side and I really wasn't too impressed with those rooms. Even though they had a kitchen, with all the great restaurants in Aruba will you really be cooking during your honeymoon? If you stay at the Marina you should also let the know ahead of time and when you check in that it's your honeymoon and you will probably be upgraded to a nicer room. We had a beautiful Ocean View King room on the 5th floor that had an amazing view. They also sent us up 2 platters of fruit and cheese and a bottle of wine. Ask for Nelson when you go, he is the front desk manager and is GREAT!

For the last 8 nights of our honeymoon we switched hotels and stayed at the Bucuti, which is supposed to be "the" honeymoon resort. Although it was beautiful and very private, we actually missed the Ren and found ourselves taking cabs back to that area every night for either dinner or to go out. So, it really depends on what you are looking for in a hotel.

We have also stayed at the Divi Golf Resort before and I would say that their rooms are nicer than those of the Ocean Suites at the Ren, but they too were not right on the beach. We also found that it was much more crowded at the pools there than the Ren. I think the reason is that the Ren is spilt up into 2 different hotels and they have the private island, so people have more options as to where to go during the day.

Anyway, the point of my long story is that I think you will be more than happy with teh Renaissance if you choose to stay there for your honeymoon and I personally wouldn't pay the extras $800 to stay at the Ocean Suites.

For the best location Playa Linda, located on Palm Beach and in High Rise area between Hyatt and Holiday Inn. Nice beach (busy area!), new mall across street and alot of choices to eat and drink, there are 2 happy hour bars open 12-6 on the beach at this resort 2 for 7.50. Also nice walking sidewalk approx. 2 miles in front of hotels at Palm Beach. You can also buy day passes at al inclus. hotels nearby if want Occid. $75 9-6? (breakfast, lunch, drinks/no dinner) and Rui 10-10p (all 3 meals and drinks) 100.00 pp kids 1/2 price or free depending on age

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks John

I love the Rennaissance, you can't go wrong with that place.
The private island is perfect, the location is close to everything, local and good restaurants& shops.

    Congratulations!
