1st Time Vacation

Hello Everyone... I am glad I found this site. Lots of useful information. Thanks to everyone.

My question is... I am staying at the Marriott/Stellaris. Are there food markets within walking distance? How about restaurants? I am also an avid Hard Rock Cafe collector. Does anyone know how far the Hard Rock is from the Marriott? Lastly, any suggestions about doing some deepsea fishing?

The Stellaris is pretty much the last hotel on the "Strip". There is a pretty decent hotel gift shop there that sells most items, of course it is expensive.

The supermarket Ling & Sons is about a 6 or 7 minute drive.

There are a good amount of restaurants within walking distance.... Moomba beach bar is real close, and right as you get past the Holiday Inn there are tons of options.

I haven't been to the Hard Rock but I think it is in the area after the Holiday Inn near the new mall.

Are you renting a car? Aruba is very safe and accessible - I highly reccomend a car for at least a few days of your trip.

Great, brand new HR near Gianni's. Outstanding service, food was really good. I would have to say that the meal there was one of the better ones we had in a 2 wk stay. It was my daughters 16th bday and they played it up big there for her...All the music on the screens were her requests, they gave her a HR aruba bday pin...I highly recommend them ! Also, Ihave to say Rosalie Klien( photographer/reporter) played a big part in pulling this off..hats off to her !

I guess we might have to give this giannis another try, last year we were at the radisson, so of course right across the way is Giannis, so we gave it a try, but both DH and I didn't really feel it was good and certainly not worh the $$$$. Everyone we spoke to the at the hotel really enjoyed their meal, so maybe just us. On a scale of 1 - 10, would have only given it a 5

As a switch, why not try Azzuro instead. That is what Randi is doing.

We're done. to many other places to try. Once bad we don't go back.
