Smile 1st timer going on a honeymoon

    Hello all!

I will be heading to Aruba come February for my honeymoon and I am so excited. My wife wanted me to set up the trip and have it be a surprise until we get to the airport. I have decided that I for sure want an all inclusive resort but was looking for some help from you fine people! Any tips, suggestions, concerns etc. would be helpful!!!

Welcome to the Aruba.com community forum

Congrats on your marriage and your honeymoon in Aruba.

My first suggestion is to surf around the categories and do a good amount of reading.

    Ask many questions.

Do you have your resort chosen yet?

February is coming quickly, now is the time to make reservations.

    Thanks so much!

My top two choices were the Divi Aruba Ai or the RIU. Kind of torn between the two. Have you stayed at either place before?

Since we are doing the all inclusive and obviously going to be spending a lot on that, do you still think going outside of the resort and planning some activities I is necessary? Or will we have plenty to do at the resort?

Hi K10 - welcome to our wonderful forum. As you can probably tell by my forum name, I am a lover of the Divi AI. I have never stayed at RIU, however, did have a tour of a suite when they first opened and the rooms had a beautiful view. I believe the beach at Divi would be a lot less crowded than RIU it that at all makes a difference. Divi is at the low rise area compared to RIU at the high rise area where there is much more to do at night. It depends how much you want to do but I think you will be happy wherever you stay in Aruba. I always like to suggest the trike tour which is fun. Wherever you stay make sure you tell them you are on your honeymoon in case they have special deals or dinners for honeymooners. Congrats on your upcoming wedding and wise selection of honeymoon location of Aruba. Have fun planning

What kind of travellers are you? Drinks and beach? Explorers? Shoppers? If you're "foodies", I'd say skip the AI because Aruba has a disproportionate number of good restaurants for an island its size.

Hi K10 - Welcome to the Aruba.com Community Forum! Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Hubby & I honeymooned in Aruba and fell in love with the island almost immediately (along with so many others on this board!)

There are a few adults only resorts you may want to check out. What are you looking forward to most? Eagle Beach (low rise) is a little calmer with great spacious beaches, Palm Beach has more walkable nightlife & restaurants.

i am more partial to Divi as i like the low rise area and it being low key and more laid back then the palm beach area. If you folks are looking for laid back, then i would recommend Divi AI...the Riu is in a crowded active location, which many folks love.

As far as activities, I would recommend a sunset sail, or a snorkel sail...and an island tour.

At the resort you will have the beach, the pool, casino, restaurants and bars (divi offers rock wall, snorkeling, wind surfing lessons)
I do think you will need at least one off resort activity.
