We've stayed at the Divi AI (10+ Times). My take on it is, the beach is gorgeous, the staff wonderful and the rooms comfortable. Veranda rooms have nice ocean views and tend to be the quietest. Casita rooms are beachfront but the way the rooms are situated it's more ocean view from the side. Vista rooms overlook the pool and have nice ocean views. There is also a new wing built last year and a new pool. Over the years the food has gone back and forth between average and very good. The AI gives a tremendous amount of freedom, stroll into the Pelican Terrace buffet from the beach (make sure you wear a cover up) or grab pizza at the bar by the pool. You can even grab a plastic plate and sit at the Beach bar. The thing about the Divi is they run frequent sales and I always felt that made it affordable enough to go off resort for dinner if we felt like it. My only caution is the Divi is also very popular with families so there can be a lot of little ones running around.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your upcoming nuptials. We will also be there in Feb celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We started out at the Divi and moved on to the Occidental. As was stated before, if you like the quiet than the Divi is the way to go. However if active nightlife and such is your thing I would suggest the high rise section. Whichever you choose you will love the Island and have lots of great memories.

Have not stayed at the Divi although hear it is lovely. I can only speak of the Riu, where we have stayed several times. Our view was beautiful, the food was excellent, but hard to find shade on the beach. Very busy. We did not however, have trouble finding shade around the pools, which were very nice. If you did all inclusive, I would get off the resort and do a snorkel excursion and maybe an ATV excursion. Welcome to the forum!

Being your honeymoon, I'm guessing you are not traveling with kids so you may want to stay at the adults only resort. Unless you really like kids and don't mind the possible yelling & running around & general commotion that comes along with children

Adults only.... you still have access to all the amenities of each property.

The RIU has a sister hotel next door and you can share facilities at both hotels but one is adult only, you can actually walk down the corridor to it via the RIU palace, it also has a mini night club on from 11pm till 3pm, my hubby and I danced to the early hours there, it was fun! I loved this hotel, you really do get the best both worlds. The adult one is called the RIU Antillas hotel (sister hotel)
