Hi, My husband & I have started to take a week for ourselves the first week in Dec. each year and this year we've decided on Aruba. Our first time there. I've been talking with Arubalisa and have had great conversations. My husband & I have traveled up & down the east coast frome Maine to Key West, with & without our kids ( they're 21,19 & 16), and look forward to expanding our travel experiences. We've been to Maui and absolutely loved it.
If anyone has tips about Aruba that'd be great. Thanks a bunch! Catherine
Ask questions by topic, and you'll gets lots of answers from the aruba peanut gallery...you came to the right place....food, water sports, entertainment, shopping...no matter what, this is a great place !!!
Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.
Good afternoon Catherine,
First things first, welcome to this very friendly Aruba bb.
It was your previous trip(s?) to Maui coupled with the fact that your are now heading to Aruba that prompted me to write and welcome you.
By way of background, we live in Winnipeg, Canada, and for the last several years we have gone to Maui twice per year (May & Oct, we stay at the same condo in Kihei) and Aruba in January. I have said before that those who like Maui, will usually like Aruba, and vice-versa. Both have great weather, great beaches, friendly people and are clean and well-run.
Did you you enjoy Maui? Would you go back? I'd love to hear from you.
My husband, Dave & I were on Maui in 99' and last February I was there with our daughter, and we had a blast! I would surely go back. There is so much to do there and we were on the go from the beginning to the end of our trip. My sister in law & I were on Honolulu & the Big Island in 06' and that was also a great trip. Each island has many different things to offer. Kauai will be next.
Sorry about the late reply. Still getting used to the forum.
