    Aruba in July

    Hi, All!

My husband and I have been to Aruba many times (14), but always in December. We are leaving in about 10 days, also taking the kids for the first time. The bugs usually aren't too bad in December - how are they in July?

    Thanks!

hi cathy and welcome to the aruba.com community forum

    the mosquitos are typically unpredictable.
there has not been much rain in aruba over the last 5 months, so there should be few mosquitos.
but, some have reported that the mosquitos have been present.

i think, but not certain........that steve and mo made mosquito references in their most recent trip report.

    check it out

either way...bring some off and relax.
    it'll be perfect!

Just got back and always go around this time...... We had some flies at Amsterdam Manor at Mango's and Passions Beach Bar during the day and lots at Las Ramblas our first night for dinner well before sunset. Seems like they went home after sunset.... no problems anywhere with bugs at night and we dine outdoors whenever we can and no flies at Passions the night we dined there.

Just got back last night. We only had Mosquitos on the 1st morning on our balcony. I got deet wipes in the camping section at Walmart as they aren't considered liquids going through security. They worked great. Left the package on the balcony and never saw another. There were a few flies but not as bad as home.
It rained twice while we were there. A few minutes yesterday morning and a few days ago a good wetting for around 15 min. We noticed puddles for 2 days after.

Welcome to the Aruba.com community forum

I usually travel to Aruba July or August and have only had one night during all our visits that was a real issue.

    Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm glad to hear I probably won't be coming to a bug-infested paradise!

We use Avon Skin so soft bug lotion in early morning and at dusk/night. Mosquitoes absolutely love me. I would suggest something especially at night. They aren't bad but they find me anywhere!

My wife and I usually go 1st week of July and we've never really encountered mosquitoes. We've never bring repellant and we've never had a problem. Enjoy your trip!
