    Aruba Newbie

Hello! My husband and I are planning our first trip to Aruba and we just didn't know where to start. Now that we have found your community, I'm looking forward to getting some good tips & insight from all of you! First, I need the 'lay of the land'. Do you have a favorite place to stay that is on the beach & within walking distance of a few restaurants? We will rent a car for a couple of days but would like the convenience of walking whenever possible. Thanks in advance for your help!

I highly recommend the Rennaissance Suites...nice 1 bedroom with kitchen set up, their own private island which you have to take a boat to, its walking distance to downtown and to some great restaurants. Our fav restuarants are as follows( in no order of preference) Iguana Joes, Madame Jeannettes, Flying Fishbone, Chalet Suisse, Sunset Grill, Ruins Del Mar, Casa Tua...these are off the top of my head. Keep reading the site and you'll find little tidbits of info...We've gone 12 yrs in a row, and own 3 wk timeshare...needless to say we LOVE IT ! cindyo

OC Mel, Welcome to our site.We all share information and we all love Aruba. Our 28th + trip is in Feb.We love the Renaissance because the people are very friendly, from the suites we can walk to many stores and restaurants casinos and more.We also enjoy our other timeshare at Marriott Ocean club .From there we walk on the beach sidewalk to many restaurants and beach bars.We never rent a car.If you stay near the Marriott end you can walk down anc cut over to the road where the newest area has been built with movie theater,TGFI,and more.Enjoy your trip. There are lots of good buys renting timeshares.I know of a few for rent 2009 if need more info email me ourlakehouse@metrocast.net

Another vote for Renaissance here as well but there are many other beautiful places. You will get all different opinions here on this board. Do some reading through the forums and see what you are looking for and book it up. If you are staying for more then a week maybe try 2 different spots just to compare for the future. Good luck and welcome!

We are just home from our Honeymoon We stayed at Bucuti Beach Resort. If you need another idea I would suggest checking into them. It was a great place!
