I went to Puerto Vallarta last September and stayed in Paradis Village...I gues its Puerto Nuevo or something like that. Anyway, there is NO....did I say, NO?? comparison! I was SO disappointed when I was in Mexico. I expected it to be more like Aruba, and it wasn't at all. But, I will say, we were told it was a bad time to come, as 5 different rivers all flowed into the Bay of Bandaras, and the water was yukky. You couldn't even see your hand in the water!! We did take a boat trip across the Bay, and the water was definately clearer, but nowhere near as beautiful as Aruba is.

In september we went to the Bahamas specifically, port lucaya near freeport. While the hotel was wonderful, and the snorkeling was fantastic, the rest of the trip suffered in comparison to any of our trips to Aruba.

Good morning Ellesmere,
I don't think there is anything more to be said here. We love Aruba, as it was and as it is. The people, the beaches, the weather, the restaurants and bars, the casinos, and just the general ambiance of the place. All of us think you'd love it. The next part is up to you. At the risk of sounding so un-Canadianly blunt, either go to Aruba, or don't! Regards, Glenn |

Hi Ellesmere: We are returning to Aruba this February for the 14th time! ---If you stay at the Divi, the beach is practically empty even in high season. The locals are wonderful people, there is almost no crime, the restaurants are varied and reasonably priced, the island is easy to navigate, and the climate is close to perfect. Once you come to Aruba, I know you'll shop E'Bay for a timeshare as soon as you get home!
