    First time to Aruba

Hi! This will be mine and my husbands first time to Aruba- be there in April and so excited! Does anyone have information about restaurants away from the hotel? I have a latex allergy and wondering if there’s info on restaurants etc. Also would the hotel have a list of things to do in the area? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum! People will be better able to answer your questions if we know where you are staying. I would say most hotels will have an activity list as well as a list of nearby restaurants.

let me join Peg in welcoming you!

spend some time on this site, visiting "nightlife, culinary and activities"

how would a latex allergy affect you @ a restaurant? my husband is allergic to latex.

my advice is to make yoursef a nice hot beverage, sit back and read lots here!

never be afraid to ask any question.

Hi! For my latex allergy and restaurants- I have to be careful when food is being prepared and handled. A big concern is with salads, fruits, garnish. If food is cooked and very hot- most times they use utensils to handle the food. Just makes for a difficult time trying to eat healthy. I’ve already had an incident with use of latex gloves and salad-
You also have to be careful with other foods that are considered in the same “classification” with latex such as bananas avocado and kiwi. I’m very allergic to bananas! Hope that helps! Let me know if you need more info. Be well

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

    Good morning,

Welcome to the forum. You will find lots information here. Andrea does a super job of keeping us all up-to-date.

As with any bit of advice regarding restaurants, things to see and do etc, people's opinions are exactly that; their opinions. However, while we all have our favourite places to eat, drink, shop, sun, swim and have fun in Aruba you'll find a common theme here; we keep going back time and time again. Aruba is clean, safe, stable, with great weather and friendly people.

Some of us may be biased here but I think after one visit, you'll become a regular too!

    Welcome and enjoy!
