First time to Aruba..Need general info

This will be my first time to Aruba. I have several questions...never been out of US since childhood. If anyone can answer my questions, I would be greatly appreciated.
    Questions:
    1) Where are the grocery stores located?
    2) Should I convert my US$ to Arubanian currency?
    3) Where can I rent a scooter and what is the cost?
    4) Where can I get an travel guide or maps for siteseeing?
    5) Want 2 scuba dive..are there places that cater to beginners?

hi and welcome to the aruba.com community forum

there are several grocery stores in the EAGLE section, just on the north side of oranjestad......near the tamarijn and divi and druif beach area.

the stores are located on the main drag to the hi rise and lo rise resort areas

no conversion of US $$ to Aruba florins is necessary.
bring plenty of small bills.......$1-$5-$10s for incidentals and tipping.
plenty of ATM machines , dispensing in US $ or Aruba florins. you choose!

You will love aruba, it was our first island vacation, and we traveled to many other islands after aruba, but nothing ever measured up. Yes, many other places were beautiful, but I love the safety and freedom that you will find in aruba.

ATM-10 months ago I noticed a local ATM only wanted to charge $3 for a withdraw. Yes in the USA I pay zero, but it was good to know the charge was in expensive.

Currency- no need to convert, the island takes us dollars, so IMO don't waste your time switching. Some places actualy prefer dollars anyway.

Google- before my last trip I googled jeep rental places and then emailed each place to check availability, price incl insurance. Then when I got to the island I knew who had the best deals etc. So you can try the same for scotters.

    Good luck and have fun!
