    first timer and excited!

    Hello All -

    travelling July 4th - 2 adults and 2 teens
staying at Divi Divi all inclusive (teens can eat!!)
Have traveled throughout the Carribean - but never to Aruba.
Want to spend at least one day exploring - do we have to rent a vehicle (car or jeep???) ahead of time
or can I wait till I get to the island?
If you had to name 3 NOT TO BE MISSED things on Aruba - what would they be??
Also - celebrating a very BIG birthday 7/5 - where should we go for a great dinner?
Not too romantic - they are 2 teen boys and a friend!
Any and all ideas/suggestions to make this visit my first but not my last will be greatly appreciated!

    thanks!

Welcome to the forum.... You're gonna love Aruba.

You can generally book a vehicle a day ahead for a vehicle during summer months. There are other tours available and I'm sure someone will help you with information for that. Do not miss the beach, the sunsets or the friendly people.

Best thought for a birthday dinner with a coupla teen boys would be Texas de Brazil.... lots of food and fun. Do sign up for the e-club for discounts. http://www.texasdebrazil.com/locatio...ba/palm-beach/

Enjoy the stay.... it won't be your last!

Welcome to both this forum and to Aruba. You are all going to love Aruba as well as the Divi Divi. Make sure you let guest services know about the big birthday, they just may do something special for you!

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure that your family is going to have a wonderful time. My suggestion for dinner would be Barefoot. Your family will love the views and the food is great. We love the atmosphere there. It has a great Caribbean vibe, along with wonderful water views. We like to dine in the sand but they also have a huge palapa for dining. Be sure and get there for sunset. The views are fantastic.

Jules, we have to get together! We too are arriving July 4 with 2 teen boys (15 & 17). We are staying at Paridise Beach Villas, across the street from LaCabanna.
We are renting a car for the week and a jeep one day. (Steve & I visited Aruba 11years ago. 1st time for the boys).
We have a trip booked on the Jolly Pirate.
Planning to roam around, snorkel, eat & drink! 19 days! :-)

Hi! Welcome to the Aruba.com Community Forum & to Aruba!! You are going to love it!!

Jolly Pirates is a great snorkeling tour with a rope swing - my kids love it (teens & pre-teens) I love the open bar & the vibe
A trip to Baby Beach is a must for us. We love the snorkeling and the drive - a trip you need to have a car for.
Exploring the back side of the island, Alto Vista Chapel, the Gold Mine Ruins the collapsed Natural Bridge

Texas de Brazil is a great suggestions for a fun, special, not romantic dinner with tons of food.

    Have a great time!

Welcome... most important thing is to HAVE FUN !!!
If you drink... try a new one every night.. explore with new foods: you be surprised on how good it is.
We did prebook with ABC tours; it was a very long excursions but saw the whole island with a taste of everything in a jeep.
Rockey was great. Would do it again. Just make sure you wear old clothes... and a wrap around the hair is a must.
