First Trip to Aruba Sept 16-21

We have our tickets purchased and our passports are on their way. We reside in the land locked city Dallas, Texas and the only water we get to play in is nearby lakes, so we are really looking forward to our trip which is long overdue. We will be staying at the La Cabana through BlueGreen in a One Bedroom. This trip is our delayed HoneyMoon. We are a young couple Late Twenies and looking to hang out with other couples while we are there. So if anybody is staying there at the same time let us know so we can meet up for a drink.

I have read all the pros and cons about LaCabana and kind of wish we were staying at another location but i figured we will only be sleeping there so what is the differece where you lay your head as long as it has AC and Clean sheets.

I also want to take Tamara to a nice quiet, romantic restaurant on the beach and looking for recomedations price really is not a issue.

We will probaby take part in most or all of the following activites. ParaSailing, ATV tour, Moring Star Charter, Deep Sea Fishing, Vehicle Rental and alot of Beach Relaxing.

I am not going to plan all the activities in a advance i would just like to make sure when we choose something to do that we are picking the best that the island has to offer so we don't end up being dissappointed with any activies since our time will only be a short lived week.

Thanks for any imput or help in advance.

See y'all soon ;-)

Robb

Flying Fishbone is on the beach and has great food. Very romantic and be sure to tell them you are on your honeymoon. You will get a table for two near the water's edge. You will be able to watch the sunset as you are eating barefoot in the sand. So make sure you bring your camera!

Make your reservation in advance especially if you want sunset at the water's edge.

I could not agree more with the previous two replies...Flying Fishbone is a wonderful place for a nice, romantic dinner on the beach. Visit their website (see Arubalisa's post) for details on the menu and to make a reservation. Please note, the restaurant is in Savaneta, which is in the southern part of the island well away from the hotels and is not near any bus lines. To get there you must either take a cab (approx $25-30 each way) or rent a car and drive yourself. You will not regret dining here...the service is great and the food is wonderful. If they would just add a house salad to their menu it would be absolutely perfect!

Which LaCabana do you know? BRC or the Villas.

We stayed at BRC and loved it!
We are in our early 30's and found the resort to be very nice, clean and the staff was great both times we stayed there (2004 and 2006). The beach is right on Eagle beach and I believe it's the best beach, you don't have to wait for a cabana. The bus is right in front of the resort so you can get around.
Have fun and congrats to you guys!!!
