    Going to Aruba in March

My husband has earned a sales trip to Aruba and we're coming in early March. We've never visited Aruba and I'm trying to learn more. We're not big water people, although we enjoy walking on the beach and an occasional foray into the ocean. We like to explore, hike, visit museums and get a feel for the local culture. We're staying at the Aruba Riu Palace. Any suggestions would be wonderful! Thank you.

Welcome to the forum Kathy. You don't have to be water people to enjoy Aruba but when you see that gorgeous ocean you may just become a water person. There is a lot to do. Take a private taxi tour; or trike tour; spend time at the lighthouse at sunrise or sunset; go on a snorkel cruise (Black Pearl is my recommendation). You don't have to snorkel just enjoy the view from the water. Plenty of shopping and great restaurants.

Welcome to the Aruba.com Community Forum!

You will love this forum and fall in love with the island once you are there! You can hike Hooiberg, rent a jeep or take a jeep tour to check out the natural side of the island, or go hike down to the Natural Pool. Many things to do besides lounging in the ocean all day (but of course there is that too!).

There are a few museums downtown and many opportunities to feel the local culture like the Carubbian Festivals http://www.aruba.com/things-to-do/carubbian-festival

Again, welcome and feel free to ask tons of questions as you read thru the posts here. You will see we all love Aruba and love to talk about her!

Hi Kathy, welcome to the forum! All of your time doesn't have to be spent in the ocean, but the beach there is really nice. If you enjoy great food, Aruba has a wonderful selection of restaurants from Argentine steak houses to some of the freshest seafood you will ever encounter and everything in between. I agree with Peg that Black Pearl is a great afternoon trip whether you decide to snorkel or not. Visit here often and ask questions about everything. We'll try our best to help you have an unforgettable vacation.

Thank you for a gracious welcome! These are great ideas already and I'm saving them to show to my husband. We will spend some time at the beach. I've found watching the waves and listening to the water to be very relaxing. Thank you for good ideas. Yes,I'll be asking more questions as we get closer.

Question: how do I add our photo to my profile? I'll keep looking, too.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with the others that The Black Pearl is an awesome sunset catamaran cruise. It is small they only take 25 people so I think it is very personal and fun.

Thank you for yet more great suggestions! I'm writing them down. I am a photographer and plan to come home with some amazing photos, so some of these tours and cruises sound wonderful! (I did get my photo added to my profile. Maybe it'll show up in this reply?)
