    Happy to be back!

Hi, I was on the forum a few years ago, with a different last name...dum dum dum....yep, happily divorced now! But, it took some time getting to the happy part, so I disappeared. I wasn't very active on the site then, but I had been chatting with a few people, had even met a couple that were on island at the same time, so I feel bad having just completely dropped, but that is what I needed at the time.
I have been trolling a bit now, as I am heading back in 11 days!! Woo Hoo!!
We, my 16 year old niece and I, are staying somewhere new, Casa Del Mar. I am not sure that it is the best match for us, but it was available with my timeshare exchange so that's where we are going.
I've stayed at La Cabana twice and Surf Club once, Surf Club was too crowded for me, La Cabana was a good match, so we will see how this works out. I have some questions about the resort, but I will start a new thread on the right section for that.
So happy to be reading the trip reports and getting my vacay mind set on!

Dang, forgot to get my countdown signature going!

do you remember what your username was before?

it will take a while for your countdown signature...you need more time as a member, and i think 10 - 15 posts.
(i will look that part up and get back to you)
when it is time to have a signature line, i will put it in for you if you are having difficulty

Deb, you and your niece might enjoy Ricardo's dance party on Thursday night at 9pm. It will be next door at Aruba Beach Club. It's a good time if you like to dance and like popular music.

Also note that Casa del MAR guests are welcome to us the Aruba Bech Club palapas and chairs after 8am.
We were pleasantly surprised staying in that area on December. Let me know of you have any questions.

Hi DebMan, my husband and I have been staying at Casa Del Mar for the past 6 years and love it. We stay for 2 weeks in May. My daughter got married there in 2012. I hope you were able to get a presidential unit (2 bedroom) with your timeshare exchange, as they are directly on the beach. The ambassador units (1 bedroom) are located behind the presidential building and offer little to no view of the ocean. The beach area is looking a lot better than it did the end of last year. It is a pretty low key vacation area with many retirees. We are a couple in our low 50's and this suites us just fine. There are plenty of things to do a short cab ride away. There is a nice plaza right behind the ambassador building that offers shopping, dinning and a casino. There are many great restaurants within walking distance, Matthews, Ricardo's, Ellioti's, The Chop House, just to name a few. I have done a few reviews on trip advisor with pictures over the past few years if you want to check it out. I too troll this site daily and get my fix of Aruba through the trip reports that people are kind enough to take the time and share. We are going 7 weeks from this Saturday, but who's counting! I am going to attempt to do a live trip report on this visit. Enjoy your vacation. Pam & Paul
