You are about the age we were when we first discovered Aruba. The best things about Aruba are that you can do a lot or do nothing and still have a great relaxing time. We go there to relax and unwind for a couple of weeks. When we first started going it was for a week in a timeshare. From the first trip we wished we could stay longer. After our third trip we decided to do a week and 3 or 4 days with the extra days in a hotel resort. We did that for several years and now we just get 2 weeks in a timeshare and stay from 12 to 14 days. Playing golf and snorkeling is the only thing we do besides the beach and pool.

Hi Chago! Welcome to the Aruba.com Community Forum

I separated your post into it's own thread.

Don't be nervous at all. Aruba can be exactly the wonderful relaxing vacation you are looking for. Of course the party scene is there also, but you can make it exactly what you want

    Enjoy your Aruba planning

We were also in our 50's when we discovered Aruba, and we've been back every year since. Aruba is so easy to get around. A bus or taxi will take you almost anywhere you want to go, which is one of the reasons that we chose to visit on our first trip. The people are so warm and friendly, the food is fantastic, and the beaches are gorgeous. It is very safe, compared to most islands, and you don't have to worry about people peddling their wares and harassing you like some other resort areas. Every trip we feel like we have come home. Hope you love it as much as we do.
