Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

    Hi there Audia,

Let me join everyone else in welcoming you to the forum. I think you'll find friendly, helpful advice in an almost a family-like atmosphere. We all have one thing in common, we all love Aruba.

I usually write a trip report after my vacations there. My last one was a description of our trip in October 2015. Have a look, it might even still be there.

I have a particular style of writing, and it seems to work for me. We stay at Sunset Beach Studios and I try to imagine having invited a bunch of forum members over to SBS, and we are having a few Heinekens by the pool on our last night. I try to provide information and entertain as well. Sounds like you do the same

    Have a great trip.

Thanks for the welcome Glenn. From your description, it sounds like you might have a writing style like mine. I will definitely see if I can find your review. I'm still trying to decide just how to post mine (since it kind of fits with my entire cruise review, it might not make sense unless I edit it a lot). Hopefully I can find yours.

Good morning Audia, act1966 and everyone else,

Say there act1966, thanks for providing the link to my trip report here. Why didn't I think of that? Well, when it comes to technology, my nieces think that my wife and I are barely ahead of the Flintstones, on a good day!

Audia, I sincerely think that one trip to Aruba and you'll be hooked. It is not just the sun, beaches etc; those are plentiful throughout the Caribbean. It is also reasonably well-run, stable, relatively safe, and the people are usually pretty friendly. As I say often; I have been going to Aruba, on and off since 1980. Back then, when I told my travel agent that I wanted to go to Aruba, he had no idea where I was asking him to send me.

There have been, since that time, many, many changes but all the things which make Aruba, well, Aruba are still there in abundance.

Sun-bathe, swim, snorkel, eat, drink, shop, play in the casinos, oh, did I mention shop? When you are downtown Audia, you will see that outside the Little Switzerland store on L.G. Smith Boulevard is a stone bench. When we are in Aruba, that's where you'll find me, mid-morning while my wife whizzes around the stores.

    Have fun and enjoy!

i recommend that you type your trip report (my aruba story) to a word document and save it and add to it til it is complete.
when you are ready to post it, into My Aruba Story, copy it and past into the area where the posting goes.

also too, provide a link to the photos on whatever photo site that you use or post the thumbnails.

also too, you can copy the photo thumbnails to the My Aruba Photos and Videos category.

I definitely like your writing style. It's a lot like mine. Thanks for mentioning your report to me. I appreciate it.

I don't think you understand just how long my reports are. Even if I was to type it up on a document...we are talking I "usually" have a hundred pictures to share or so and my reports are usually pages and pages long. Providing a picture link to all the pictures doesn't really work with my reports because as I'm writing the report, the pictures are posted within because they go along with the story and what I'm talking about. So, it gets very long.

I'll have to see what I can come up with. It's going to be a new experience for me.

There are size and file restrictions on this site so you'll be challenged to write anything of length with more than five (I think) pictures embedded and those pictures won't be at high-resolution (size restriction). You might look at using WordPress for long-format pieces and posting a link to it in the forum.
