Guess it's about time I actually introduce myself, huh?
I'm a born & raised Jersey Girl who loves summer & sand & the ocean & heat! Guess that is partially why I love Aruba so much!
I am married to Rich, and together we have 3 kids - Brianna is 20, Jason is 11 & Michael is 9. We are a foster/adoptive family and are contemplating opening up our home to start fostering again now that our little girl is a college student and not around much.
We have 3 fur babies - Missy is our 13 yr old Bichon Frise, Louie is our 8 yr old miniature double dappled dachshund, and Zoe is our 9 yr old house cat.
Rich grew up in Southern California and shares my love of the ocean & sand, but he doesn't really worship the sun as much as I do.
We honeymooned in Aruba back in 1998 and fell in love with everything about the island and have introduced so many friends & family members since! We've helped plan 2 engagements (one was my brother who proposed underwater at baby beach!), we've helped plan our very good friend's wedding with 50 people in attendance!, just this year we renewed our vows on Eagle Beach in a very small intimate setting!
There you go! I'm Jacki from NJ and it is really nice to meet you all
Arashi Beach, Hyatt, Radisson, Shopping, Flea Market, Downtown, Palm Beach, Everything
Hi Jacki, I'm from NJ, too. My husband loves the beach and loves Aruba's beaches. I also am not a sun worshipper but like to sit under the palapas at arashi beach (our fav). my stepdaughter is getting married there on oct 4th at the Radisson. we of course go for our two weeks.
we had a wonderful black lab Lucky (my best friend) and gorgeous kitty Remy Martin who both passed away 6 months ago. But we still have our other two cats Chloe and Kiwi and a new adopted male cat who was hanging around my house who we named Marty since he came about a week after Remy passed away and is as lovable as she was.
Welcome Jacki from another Jersey girl! Born and raised in Clifton and then summered in Mantoloking moving to Pt. Pleasant out of college. My dh and I too were foster parents, and then adopted our dd. She wanted to be an only child and the rest is history. My maternal grandfather was born in Bermuda so I guess that is where I got my love of summer?
The Sunsette Grille, The Ruins, Wacky Wahoo, Stellaris Casino, The Hyatt, The Radisson, Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Mi Duishi boat adventure
From Jersey, born in Livingston, lived in Flanders and Morganville, now Atlanta. Sure miss the Jersey shore. That is why I love ARUBA. The weather is amazing and a beach like no other. Hi Jacki. Your now an additional moderator, if I saw correct? That is great.
Our daughter was married at the Hyatt five years ago and we stay at the Radisson when we can. Next trip
I hope some of the forum members can meet us for drinks. Sorry if this went off topic.
Hi Jacki....congrats on becoming a moderator.....Or maybe not !!! LOL...
I'm Michele and am your neighbor from PA. Raised in Johnstown (about 60miles east of Pittsburgh) but now live on the PA/OH border. Think I was a mermaid in a previous life because I pine away for the ocean all year long. I do scuba, but it's not the same as just being in the water, while enjoying the sun shining on your face.
Dh loves to go to Aruba every year, but is not a beach baby like yours truly, but I am trying to talk him into letting me buy a house in Aruba....told him he doesn't have to come live with me there, but can come visit whenever he wants....Best of both worlds if I can accomplish it !!!!,,

Radisson Resort, chilling out on the beach for 8 hours per day
Hi Aruba Lisa, grew up in Paterson. My husband grew up in Asbury Park. We were both married and divorced but found each other and got married 10'years ago and went to Aruba to honeymoon and have been back every July since then. Last year we renewed our vows at the Radisson. Nice to see so many of Forum members are from NJ. Talk soon.
Hey Jacki, so nice of you to share a little about yourself. Sorry, but I'm not a Jersey girl, but rather a Quincy (pronounced Quinzee) girl. So glad you took on the monitor role and I 'm sure Andrea is thrilled.
