welcome to the old and crabby club. i love kids.......i do love them, i taught swimming and coached kids swimming from 1974-2008 ....but i love good attentive parents even more kudos to bucuti for going kids free.......it is a great option for those that want to be kid free on vacation.

dining in the bucuti area is terrific

Matthews 5 min walk @ Casa Del Mar
Pizza Bob and Eliottis 5 minute walk @ Costa Linda
    Element @ Bucuti
Ginger 5 minute walk at Alhambra Marketplace
Windows short 3 minute drive @ Divi Links Golf Resort
Ricardos 5 minute walk @Aruba Beach Club
French Steakhouse and Ikes 5 minute walk @ Manchebo resort

thoughts in the Bucuti? I picked it because it's adults only, I'm old and crabby and have spent quite a few Caribbean vacations with kids near me screaming all day lol.....I also likes the breakfast included and sine around options.

i am am open to other suggestions and would prefer to have most dining at the hotel or nearby not sure I want to rent a car but will if it's the best idea. I'd truly rather just walk to places or be at the hotel.

    Happy New Year!! Kim

Bucuti is a nice place right on the beach. You will be in walking distance to several restaurants. Matthews at the Casa Del Mar is excellent. If you like pizza, Pizza Bobs is less than a block from your front door. Has a great italian farmers salad and very good pizza. If you can walk a half mile, the Promenade restaurant is also excellent. There are some newer restaurants next to the Alhambra casino that I have not tried yet. The Alhambra is 2 blocks from you. There is a bus stop next to the Alhambra that will take you downtown and back for $2. There are dozens of good restaurants in Ostad.

We spent two weeks in Aruba this past June. The first week we stayed at LA cabanna (time share). the second week we stayed at the Tamarjin (all inclusive) we did a lot ( shopped, jeep tour. Spend time downtown and in the the high rise area, spend time on eagle beach, and the jolly pirate's). It was awesome. Enjoy your trip.

We returned from Aruba a week ago Thursday after having been on the island for 13 days. Expect some rain overnight and early morning. It is just that time of year.

Our first two days we had some passing showers before 11 am and the days cleared up and were beautiful for the rest of the day.

One night had early rain showers off and on not too long after sunset which changed our dinner plans.

The day we left there were off and on showers interspersed with sunshine. These types of days are great for snorkeling, sightseeing and shopping.

Nighttime lows are 78 F and daytime highs are at least 86 F with heat indexes much higher.

The ONLY forecast I would follow is the local one at http://www.meteo.aw/marckforecast.php. A forecast of slight chance of rain will cover the passing shower as well as rain after midnight.

Weatherman on Aruba has got to be the best job in the world. See that forecast?
