Amazing how much changes in just a few (ok, 5) years! As long as the beach hasn't changed I'll be happy! I'm excited to go. I just talked my mom into going so we'll have a newbie-to-Aruba with us.
Thank you for the updates! I really do appreciate all the info!

It's still a little while until you go to Aruba. It would be great if you would share your experience and the changes you noticed after you return from your trip.

I will do that CK1. And yes, it's still a little while before we go. Too long of a little while.

Thanks, Laura, that would be great! Like you, I haven't been to Aruba since 2010.

At least, you got your trip planned and booked! Something to really look forward to!
(I still don't know when I will make it back to Aruba.)

Palm Beach has a lot to offer. We like to bar hop our way down the beach and back, maybe having some munchies at a couple of the stops. There is a place you can rent chairs and umbrellas down in front of MooMba's.

Hello... I am going back too...
Been a long time since I have been to the island.
However once again, I need your help.
Like some I travel on a budget and nobody here belittles one for doing it.
For some reason South West most of made a mistake.. I looked at hotels and found Tropicana two bedroom suites for $30.00 per night.
Wondering if this is a nice hotel.. I know the price is scary but when I look at other sites it is a lot more..
Thanks I really am having withdrawals and would love to take my DH and DS to Aruba

    Hey there Cathi

the tropicana is located behind the LaCabana and it is about a 7 minute walk to the beach!!

it has 2 nice pools, a dunkin donuts, a restaurant a small casino and the units are well worn, but it is very very clean.

what a WONDERFUL deal $30 per night (is it per person?)

    welcome back

    don't be a stranger

Good to see you posting Cathi. We stayed at the Tropicana for our first 2 nights ever in Aruba, which happens to be 5 years ago today. The rooms are spacious and have kitchens. At that price you can't beat it. I believe it was Jacki who got that same deal on through Southwest.
Not sure when, but we will be back
