Tic toc, only a few more weeks for you to go! Last year we went for 2 weeks and just loved it! 2 weeks realy let's u relax in sun and swim in the sea without thinking only a few more days left. 1 week is nice but IMO it takes more than a week to relax and decompress. Plus when u pay for the air, adding the 2nd week is not as expensive, when u break it down to price per day.

It was the best 2 weeks of my life, lol. I will b back in nov for 12days, a few days short of 2 weeks, but longer than a weeks so that is good. Pulling the kids of of school for 3 days to do that. Last year I pulled them out for 6 days, I felt guilty, but not until I retured, lol.

Plus my job frowns upon taking two weeks, so I just asked for 7 working days off. Plus I will have the two weekends, and 1 US holiday, veternans day.

Sorry to ramble, lol. I just love 2 weeks in aruba, I am happy for all who get to go!!!

where will you be staying ?

it is indeed difficult pulling kids from school for family vacations.....my reasoning for doing it a number of times when our son was school aged, was that all things considered, family time is so VERY important and lost school days can be made up. we were so very lucky as our kid was a brainiac in school and the missed work were non issues. he was lucky to have awesome teachers and teachers that understood about family time.

maybe our paths will cross on aruba. we'll be there for 2 weeks early november.

yes indeed 1 week on island is too short!

We are staying @ the tamarijin, I love the idea of walking out your room and being directly on the beach. Where are you staying?

Its a hard call to pull the kids out, but you only live once, and they will always remember the good times.
