New to Forum

Ok, so this forum is new to me! I am returning to Aruba for my third trip May 8th Problem is this time I am traveling alone Staying at the Renassiance Resort Ocean Hotel and wondering if anyone has suggestions or recommendations for places to go alone...During the day I am perfectly happy on the beach and snorkeling but would like to find new places to go for dinner and music or shows

Welcome to the forum.

If you can hang in there there are two members of the forum who can give you a lot of info, but they are both in Aruba at the moment.

One family are owners at the Ocean Suites and are staying there right now and another member has traveled solo and will be returning this weekend.

Look for the posts from RobO and CindyO. They are at the Ocean Suites right now. ArubaMark will be heading there on Thursday.

You can just about anywhere alone there is someone always around and in general most people are rather friendly. Looks like your set during the day you just need some suggestions for night. Are you looking to meet someone or just hang out for a while. You can hit any of the places around the hotel or go to the casino, Okeanos Spa, the Latin show, or just simply grab a movie at the movie theatre there. It really depends on what you are looking to get out of it. There is plenty to do.

Hey thanks for the reply....just really looking to hang out and maybe have someone that has been there several times before offer suggestions. I probably won't rent a car so may be limited in what is available close to Ocean Suites. A jazz or piano bar at night would be fun, but I haven't heard of one there. So just friendly conversation and sharing Aruba stories. I am pretty outgoing and friends say I won't be friendless for long...I guess I will find out when I get there!

Don't take this the wrong way...how old are you? We can direct you to some appropriate things...ie Senior Frogs, Mr. Jazz...etc...cindyo

Ok, that helps a whole lot...Nice bar at Rennaissance Marina tower called BLUE. Great atmosphere.
Mr. Jazz is a hot spot down at the high rise area. Soprano's also.
Now, if you're game Senor frogs has a lot of fun things going on, stage, dancing, water slide( not my thing though), Mariott has a nice bar with kareoke( sp?)...hope that helps a little....cindyo
