New to the Forum, second trip coming soon

Hey all!! We are coming on the 25th. We had our first visit last year, and loved it so much that we bought a time share! Any low key but must see places? We are a 20s/30s couple and would love any tips as far as trips, beaches, or bars, that we should check out? Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks, Just.mat

P.S. Mods please move if this is off topic.

nope not off topic
welcome to the forum
off topic is something not aruba related
ex: my mother in law is driving me nuts
or
my kids are satan :-)

i advise you to check out the activities threads and the culinary threads.

one of the "odd" things that paul and i have done is touring cemeteries.
really very interesting graves...some quite pretty.

another thing is go shark teeth hunting at shark teeth hill (but i hear the site is now off limits)

just.mat, not that anything is all that far from wherever you are, but if you name the resort you purchased at, I've found that people who are from that same area have some really great detailed ideas that someone from another area might not know about. Just a thought...

BTW we'll be there the 24th, can't wait!

I am travelling in about 10 days for our first trip to Aruba-CANT WAIT! Its our 10th anniversary and we are travelling with 2 other couple. We have dinner plans at El Gaucho and I booked a harley tour for my hubby. Anything else you can recommend would be appreciated. Bus or Taxi to hotel from airport?

welcome to the forum.
i recommend a taxi from the airport....less hassle.

surf around the forum and the homepage and see what you see

come back and ask about restaurant suggestions and activities
my number 1 suggestion to first timers is do not schedule too much.
leave your days pretty open and take time to absorb it all.
evenings, dinner and casinos!

just.mat: across the street by the Tamarijn there is a bar that is supposed to be really cool. I think it's the Bunker Bar? Haven't been yet, but am going this year. You'll know it when you see it, you have to walk up stairs to it.

We like Salt and Pepper at night, can't see the beach or anything but cool atmosphere and great people. It's up by the high rises.

Smokey Joe's has great ribs, and happy hour b/n 5-6 and again b/n 10-11 (I think).

Any bar by the beach, is of course awesome! Tamarijn has a couple in the area as well as Divi all Inclusive. There's one called MooMba (I believe) and they are supposed to be pretty rocking and have good happy hour.

Beers on the beach, in your room, on the balcony, anywhere in Aruba is good. Enjoy, and maybe we'll see you around! We are at the Links at Divi...

The Bunker Bar is wonderful.

If you are not staying at the resort on the all inclusive package you will need to purchase drink coupons. They do not accept cash.

There is another bar, Jimmy's (a cash bar, having nothing to do with the all inclusive) which overlooks the ocean and is located on the second floor of the Gym/watersports building at the north end of the Tamarijn property.
