New member Hello!

New member to your board. Me and my wife will be taking our first trip to Aruba on May 6th. this message board has been a great resource for us, thank you all.
I do have a couple of questions.
1. we are staying at the Manchebo restort, what is the best way to get from the airport to the resort? taxi, bus?
2. If a taxi should we reserve one ahead of time? and what is the correct tip for something like that? we are from New Hampshire and niether one of us has ever had to use a taxi.
3. beach towels, does the hotel provide them or do we need to pack some?

Hey Jason welcome to our wonderful community here! Unfortunately I do not know a lot about that resort but I am sure you will get some other feedback here. I would book a taxi that way they will be there waiting for you after you get your bags and you can just get on the road. Go to the getting around section of the forum you will see a lot of helpful info there. My personal choice would be Bully. If you need his info let us know and we'll get it to you. Tip all depends on what you think is fair. It could be just a few bucks or you can do like me and double your fair. I only do that for Bully though!

At the airport there are lots of taxi's (if you don't reserve Bully) waiting for each plane load of people. Taxi's are plentiful all over the island and the easiest mode of transportation, if you don't rent a car. People take buses too as it is very safe in Aruba. I wouldn't recommend this from the airport though.

Do follow the posters advise and take a private tour with either Bully or Serry (cyrill Croes) to get the best tour of the island. Both men are local and do a fabulous job in sharing their island with the tourists. You can get both email and telephone numbers from searching this BB.

Jason...here is Bully's email address, let him know your arrival dates and time and he may be able to pick you up. If not his brother (I think) has picked my girlfriend up in the past...all very nice people....as ArubaMark can tell you !!!

As for the Manechbo...have never stayed, but it is by the lowrise hotel area, behind the Alhambra Casino and right beside the Aruba Beach Club and Casa Del Mar. It is right on the beach, so that is a plus....and the beach is very nice...you will have a wonderful time!!!

Yes, hotel will have them, save room in your luggage.
