    snotty is an understatement.
at the riu palace, if a non guest is anywhere other than the casino, they are treated as a trespasser and told to move along

They had a great pool and beach bar then. Nice casino too. Will have to check it out when we get to Aruba in May. RIU is pretty snotty about people coming there that are not staying there though.

Sad but true. When the RIU Palace first opened I heard or read about a Sunday brunch. We made a reservation. I asked someone in the lobby where the brunch was, he asked for my room number, I explained we were just there for brunch and I was told there was no brunch....but I had made a reservation....

When it first opened, we thought we would try their restaurants out. When we got there we were told by a RIU employee that they did not serve non-guests at their restaurants. The way that employee said it was what irritated me. It was like "we don't serve riff raff here", go to some place with your own kind. Really snobbish. Got the same treatment from one of their security people when we tried to cut through from the beach to the road once.

The Antillas building is the Westins building. They redid the pool and everything. Its really nice.
