Newby questions
Absolutely love this site. So much great info. Thanks to all who take the time to respond. Will be heading to the Tamarijn in 3 weeks. My teens want me to request room but have no idea what building to request. Did read other reviews and would like to be away from any noise, rocks in water but close to AM coffee!! Looks like the buildings 19 and up don't really face the sunset. Do not want to miss that. Also thinking about renting car for the day and drive around the island, maybe stop and do some snorkling. Is this pretty safe? Thank you.

Take a look at this map of the resort.
http://www.arubabound.com/accommo/tamarijn_map.jpg This time of year the sun will be setting toward where the map says "Caribbean Sea" towards the upper right corner. With that said, if you want to be further away from the "action"-- pool, lobby (widescreen TV & Billiards table), pizza bar, buffet-- then request anything 1900 - 2500. You should be able to see the sunset from the bunker bar. We invariably end up at Pizza per Tutti at that time of day for snacks along with happy hour and you would be able to see the sunset from there perfectly. Another choice, closer to the "action" listed above, with a nice stretch of beach, would be 1100. The sunset from there will be perfect and the teens will be closer to the pizza bar for snacks and Coconuts bar for self serve soda.

Thank you for the quick response. My daughter had picked building 11 when she had looked at the map. Wasn't sure if there would be too much activity in that area, but guess it would be good for the kids. Is there coffee makers in rooms? Thanks.

Welcome, our fav. is building 1300 ground floor, sliders to the beach. Car rental is easy to see the island in a half day or longer at your pace. A little rough on the North side(DO NOT DRIVE IN THE SAND YOU WILL BE STUCK)Lots to see from calif. lighthouse to Baby Beach to snorkel, this has a breakwater no waves, plenty of fish & extremely safe.
